Archaeology
Write a short response (point form, 5 minutes) to the question “How can inclusion of living communities be creatively incorporated into the research design in the archaeology of the contemporary world, in ways that take account of both the embodied presence of individuals and their contemporaneity with the archaeologist?”, in relation to a chosen topic or contemporary site suggested by the course instructor. In groups of two, share your answer with a colleague, compare and critique each other and write a composite answer that reflects both your points of view (10 minutes). We will then go around the room, hear responses and write them down into a master document that will be emailed to all students. At home, write a 5-pages, double-spaced response to this document addressing inclusion and what you have learned from collaborating with your classmates. The paper must reference 3 to 5 articles discussed in class, or from the further readings section.[unique_solution]
