• Research and explain an atypical developmental disorder and acquire a clear understanding of the diagnostic criteria of the disorder.
• Research and explain factors that are known to cause a specific developmental disorder.
• Research and explain possible treatment measures that could be taken to reduce symptoms of the disorder.

 Assignment Directions

 Select one atypical developmental disorder from the attached list to develop a slideshow using the requirements below. Learners may make use of PowerPoint, Google Slides or Prezi (free online) or another online slide presentation format.[unique_solution]

1. Brief overview of the disorder including:
   5. Symptoms and Diagnostic Criteria from DSM 5. Include all symptoms that must be present to be diagnosed with this disorder.
   6. Case or example of an individual with the disorder. What is a typical day like in the life of this individual? Images or video links are very helpful as a part of your explanation.
   7. Differential Diagnosis – outline what disorders may need to be ruled out that have similar symptoms to this disorder? Choose two and outline briefly.
2. Current Etiology (Causal Factors) – what are the main causes of the disorder? Outline at least two.

3. Treatment – what are effective drug and/or psychosocial treatments? Outline two local agencies or treatments that you have researched and recommend.

You must use at least three scholarly sources to support your presentation and they must be APA formatted.  All sources, including images, must be cited within the slides and at the end of the presentation. APA style reference format is required.
