Bakery in Montreal

Location analysis

Montreal is the largest city in Canada located in the northern side and covers 431.5square km, with a population of 4.2 million. In this city, the majority of people prefer first food like snacks, a condition that will directly encourage the purchase of the products from the Bakery; hence it would promote the growth of this Bakery through service to customers. Basing on the construction costs in Canada, the bakery construction would most likely consume more resources for effective design to achieve the purpose.  The expenses will most likely relate to the materials and equipment.  The presence of social amenities within the city provides an ideal market for the bakery products for example the schools. This provides an influx of customers during the school days, a population increase that is most likely to improve the purchasing power to the advantage of the Bakery.  The Bakery is located along the junction of Sherbrook Street and Gouin Boulevard with the area of approximately 350sq meters. The bakery area has available 100sq meters parking where a parking fee is charged after every one hour of parking, this I believe would also be a source of income to the bakery management team. The Bakery is located between various firms like Magicien evenementiel Yan Lee Chan, learning institution which affects the Bakery positively in such people from such facilities would most likely form a customer base through getting their meals from the Bakery.  The temperature of the area is also low with a record of negative seven degrees Celsius thus the visibility of the majority of people tend to be active for four hours a day. Since the location of the Bakery is along Sherbrooke Street, which is ever busy with vehicle movements, there is a likelihood of positive impacts as this has the potential of increasing the volume of customers.

The appropriate choice of bakery location in Montreal city along the Sherbrooke Street initiates an easy access to the Bakery. The proximity to the main roads and street in the city positively builds the Bakery in a way that the majority of the road users can access the Bakery at will. The higher learning institutions located in town directly increases the city population which again increases the food demand. The culture of the Montreal people of consuming fast food in town apparently increases the demand of bakery food staff. The city model structure has a modern technology that is 24-electric power system, access roads, highly populated places, well modified structures which I believe would contribute positively towards the bakery business. Also, the security provisions within the city imbue confidence in business survival, thus increases the potential for success in the Bakery if initiated. The quality approved health condition and status that also assure the people in the city place, especially places around the Bakery. Additionally, several offices have their location kin Montreal city, and this would most likely affect the Bakery positively.

Since bakery food is commensurate with major world populations, it will be ideal for Montreal. Montreal is an international city with a large community having all the best universities and institutions. This indicates that the possibility of access to the largest global networks and would most likely promote the growth of this Bakery.

Site expenses

Lease house agreement exists in Montreal and would most likely affect the existence of the proposed Bakery. This is the agreement between the landlord and the tenant, where there is a universal law that protects both landlords and tenants. This, therefore, incorporates the common law provisions that will be encountered during the lease agreement for this project. The name of both parties must be included in the document in that if any problem arises, he or she must be accounted for. The document should also contain a full description of the rental properties that should be signed for. Moreover, before leasing the property, the first down payment must be done and recorded in place to include the length of the period that the tenant should take to use the house. The agreement should be made before leasing should also account for the party who will do the maintenance in case there of damage. If the business records success, there is an option of the renewal of the contract between both parties as well as the cancellation of the leasing contract. The freedom of selling what is on the tenant’s wish is put in place to prevent restrictions from landlords. However, before the landlord leases the bakery hotel, he or she should be conscious of the leasing rules that give all general guidance and acts as evidence to the leased property.

Competition

Competition would be a significant challenge since Bakery is a synonymous business with many people being involved.  Along the Sherbrooke Street, there are closely located bakery stores, which I believe would potentially give strict competition to this particular Bakery.  The common examples include PFK which mainly provide fast food, St-Hubert Express and Harvey’s. The other bakeries and restaurants are town leaders owned and this would result to competition. .in the PFK bakery, they usually bake the same products similar to this Bakery, and with a long-standing history of operation, their services are excellent, ranging from the structure, furniture arrangement, and hiring employees. This has resulted in an increase in rapport development with the customer base, posing a vast risk as the customers will most likely prefer their stores. Additionally, the stores are massive thus would tend to attract customers who would have various services to explore.  Therefore, service delivery would be the only outstanding factor distinguishing the number of customers that each Bakery would have.

The main advantage my business would have is the provision of different styles and tastes of Bakery not common with the Montreal populations. In this regard, the Bakery has exploited bakery techniques from various cultures, which I believe would be appealing to the city’s people. Moreover, service delivery would also be a factor of success for this business. We would stress on providing the best for the customers to invoke an experience seldom experienced in most bakery stores. I believe this would initiate faster customer retention and the development of a customer base.

Space and equipment

The bakery business would require furniture and baking tools for the effective running of the store. A vehicle would also be paramount to initiate the transportation and distribution of the bakery products. The furniture would provide a place for customers who need to rest to take their food. However, we will not require a large space since fast foods are not like restaurants where people have a seat, but only space for purchase is necessary.  The baking tools for the different foods would be the prime equipment for this business as they will dictate the final product. Currently, we do not have a car but have put in possession the required furniture and the different food preparation products.

Regulations

The Bakery is a food store meaning that specific regulations are aiming at food assurance for the safety of the general public. This includes adherence to the relevant hygienic standards initiated by the authorities in Montreal. We also have the building purpose regulations; buildings in a town must have specific purposes to effect the appropriate design. Therefore as a bakery, we will have to adhere to particular design guides provided by the authorities in line with the requirements for setting up a bakery. Distribution permits would also be required since, at some point, we will have to distribute the food to potentially customer imbued locations.
