Boycotting products
Boycotting products made by companies that engage in abusive or unethical behavior does bring positive social change. This is because the company loses its relationship with customers. It causes a drop in sales of their products, leading to a decrease in profits. Also, the company loses its reputation or even get fined for engaging in immoral behavior (Newman, 2015). As a result, the management of the company must find a solution to avoid more damage to themselves, and this brings about positive social change. To ensure the boycott is successful, I would mobilize others to follow. With a large of people, the issue will be taken seriously by the company, and they will stop engaging in immoral behavior. Also, I would find a way to involve the mass media, for example, a journalist and explain the reasons for boycotting. This would help in spreading the news of why we are boycotting. I would also ensure social media is used to help reach out to more people to boycott the products made by the company for engaging in immoral behavior. I would also ensure we remain relentless until a change is made (Bond, 2018). People who think that powerful companies cannot change their behavior due to customer boycott are very wrong. Customers are compelling because, without them, the company cannot succeed. When the customers come together and decide not to buy the products, sales will drop, the reputation is hurt, and the company must find a solution for this.
