BUSINESS STRATEGIES

With the bid to ensure that rare species are conserved and treated with the utmost care, the CAZG has collaborated with CWCA to ensure that all toxic species belonging to China are well preserved. The CWCA will send representatives to the Canadian zoos twice annually to ensure that they are in good health and that their new conditions are not exploitive. The CAZG will then use this report to determine whether the Pandas have an environmentally friendly zoo or they should be withdrawn and sent back to China. This is according to 2016, China state regulation n the protection of wildlife habitats. Besides, over the years, the giant panda’s have greatly contributed to the tourism revenue attracting both local and international tourists. The CAZG has considered increasing the annual payment from the Canadian zoos to 1.5 million annually. These funds will be used to improve preservation measures of toxic species and other wildlife in China. This comes from the fact that the Toronto and Calgary zoos have had a huge boost of income since the giant pandas were taken to the zoo (Zhou &Newman 2016).

Each zoo is also required to pay 800,000 dollars annually for the exhibition of any of the panda’s offspring. The medical and transport costs are to be taken care of by the leasing zoo. This is in mind that these creatures are extremely rare and of high touristic demand. The initial ten-year agreement lease still stands and the pandas are under the protection of Conventional on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITIES) that ensures that despite these species being used for commercial purposes, they are still well taken care of (Harris 2014). The additional funds from new terms will not only be used to improve conservation projects in China but will also be used in the trading of exotic species from other zoos. For instance, the exhibit of rare animals in Chinese zoos will also be a major way to boost tourism in China.
