Business Writing class
I’m delighted to have taken the Business Writing class. It was so insightful, and I learned a lot of exciting things about it. Most importantly, as I expected, I transformed from being a writer who did not rely on his job and overthought everything, to someone who discovered his writing style and could write business research quickly and effectively. I’ve also been able to learn how to conduct company research and industry analysis. These skills have taught me how the corporate world operates as well as keeping my mind focused by widening my dimensions of considerations to evaluate situations in professional and personal contexts.
In this Business writing SBS220 course, I have encountered several hurdles, the major one which has always been a struggle for me is perfectionism. It started back then when I would promise to submit a research paper or a report in a week. However, it would take me a month or so to complete and trying to make the work appear perfect. Consequently, I have realized that releasing a study on time and enhancing it based on the feedback is the most effective way to emerge as a valuable business writer. Information is the cornerstone of today’s business world. Therefore, I would like to urge any incoming student to practice business writing every day. Writing is a skill, and skills enhance with better practice and reading quality materials every day.
I know that my capability to write, express, and organize my thoughts have grown stronger, mostly in company research analysis. However, as much as I feel like I expanded my analysis and business writing skills, I can still identify gaps in my knowledge as an industrial analyst. As a business writer, I wish we could have spent more time on it. Industrial analysis knowledge is essential since the world economy is turning out as an industrialized economy.
