An important role of psychology is to provide families, communities, and other important decision makers with research and theory to improve the lives of individuals in these first stages of development. The media might not always get the information correct. The media also is frequently limited to one cultural perspective.
Your case study will involve selecting a contemporary issue and analysing it in relation to relevant peer-reviewed research and the cultural context and then making recommendations for the public.
TOPIC – Normalising breastfeeding (From ABC News) (refer attached ABC article and video)

- Evaluation, cultural relevance: Is the perspective presented in the media source relevant to others from diverse cultures in your local community who may also access this media source?
- Evaluation of evidence: Utilising the peer-reviewed sources evaluate the arguments and perspectives presented in the media source. How reliable is the information–is it correct, incomplete, or misleading? How is the perspective limited?
