Koch Industries Leonard’s argument is that the Kochs had an influence in capitalism and it is an American sleeping giant. He also says that while talking about the American economy you are simply talking about Koch Industries. The corporation is so diverse that it touches on almost all spheres of the economy. For example the company refines and distributes gas that citizens use in their cars. Also Koch manufactures fertilizer used in planting, and thus everyone that eats is involved with the corporation. Koch Industries is a massive polluter and like it is expected they are supposed to be regulated by the government by it has not happened. In 2009 a bill that was to regulate emissions pollution in America was drafted by the Obama administration. What they did not know was that Koch Industries came up with inducements for the republicans and threatened those who refused the incentives. Koch has a lobbying shop known as American for prosperity meters away from the white house. The company has sponsored many political movements such as the Tea Party so that they…
About popular authors Two popular authors I will be writing about are Flannery O’Connor’s and Allen Ginsburg. Both have created canonical texts. One of O’Connor’s most famous works is “A Good Man is Hard to Find,” which was written in the 1950s. As the 1960’s neared, the end of the persona of a perfect family, the “right” way to live, and the widespread sense of stability was ending. The Beat Movement was just around the corner, and it was evident in the writings of these stories that authors were becoming more daring in their subject matter. In “A Good Man is Hard to Find,” the main character is introduced as being religious, stand up citizen. Still, as the story goes on, her morals become questionable and beg the question if she is a good or even likable character.. The introduction of O’Connor’s character acts as the representation of society’s feelings of the ’50s, and their progression represents the transition in a culture which leads into the ’60s. Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find” is set in the…

confederate monuments From a historical context, confederate monuments, such as the flag and the statues, were adopted in 1861. They were first used as a memorial to the confederate soldier and served as a symbol of the country’s pride in the battlefield. The confederate flag promoted tradition, liberty, and religion. Between the 1890s and 1950s, the state government built confederate monuments which matched the ruling of Jim Crow segregation. For instance, in Ft. Mill, South Carolina, Jefferson Davis Memorial Association dedicated the Defenders of State Sovereignty Association monument. Local and state governments used some monuments to intimidate African Americans. Additionally, they are symbols of hate, racism, and treason. They show white supremacy, slavery, discrimination, and segregation against black Americans. Therefore, it is not appropriate for cities or states to publicly display monuments as it will cause unrest and lack of peace in the states. The confederate flag and other monuments represent white supremacy that caused slavery, racism, and segregation. They are the most overlooked tools of modern racism. The different race has different beliefs; therefore, they tend to hold one…

The evolution of music Music has changed over time. The evolution of music has been due to several reasons. One of the reasons that the nature, meaning, and composition of music changing over time is due to the society adapting to a capitalist environment. Nowadays, everything is commercialized. The capitalist society has led to the development of a monopolistic market; therefore, everyone is trying to obtain the majority amount of profit from their venture. Music has not been left behind in this societal development. People are producing music with the primary aim of selling and not as a means of communication. People produce music that attracts the majority number of people or rather music that is trending. This has seen the development of two types of music, popular music, and serious music, which have different implications for music’s aesthetic experience. Role of the Department of Homeland Security The terrorism incident is about blockading of the Boston Marathon Bombers that was on April 15, 2003., The terrorism act was done during the Boston Marathon event, which entailed a set up where explosives such as pressure cooker bombs and nails were strategically placed and placed on specific places. The incident is of interest to me as it entailed a well organized plan where the weapons were well-timed with accordance to a race that was taking place. Emergency Management was effective enough in ensuring that they dealt with the issue before it exploded, and they were assertive enough. During the act, JFK Presidential Library exploded,. The emergency team was able to take quick action and determined that the case was not related to the bombing. The terrorist means of escape was blocked through the creation of a perimeter to intercept the suspects and get to interview witnesses. Terrorism has become a critical threat to the world in the modern world, and there is a need to ensure that terrorist is able to curb…
