Danzy Senna’s First Novel, Caucasia The novel Caucasia is an impressive piece written by Danzy Senna that maps out the journey of a biracial girl throughout the 1970s and 1980s. However, I found Danzy Senna’s Caucasia to be extremely powerful. It dealt with essential topics such as social justice and racial Identity but did so in a way that was easy to understand and follow. Senna created characters that I, as the reader, was able to sympathize with, which helped in getting her themes across. More specifically, our narrator birdie and her struggle with not fitting into either of the races that she is told that she belongs to stuck out to me while reading this novel. Before this passage, Birdie is describing what it is like to be on the run with her mother, moving from place to place, and not knowing what is coming next: “In those years, I felt myself to be incomplete– a gray blur, a body in motion, forever galloping toward completion–half a girl, half-caste, half-mast, and half-baked, not quite ready for consumption. And for…
book “Heart of darkness ” The book “Heart of darkness ” is written by Joseph Conrad, and the story is about a sailor who had a boat which used to transport ivories using a steamboat across Congo River. The author, in the year 1899, had the experience of being a merchant sailor across Congo, and he experienced horrors portrayed by Belgian rule, which was meant to exploit the Africans (Conrad, 130). According to Chinua Achebe, Conrad presented Africa as “the other world ’’ who were in the antithesis of Europeans together with Civilization. A place for man’s intelligence as well as refinement as lastly, criticized by triumphant bestiality. Conrad went through racism, and he has experienced criticism, he reports this simple since it’s a reasonable way for the whites to mistreat African, and this goes unrecognized. Many critics defended Conrad from the condemnations that Achebe had towards him. They continued to say that the book and writers were relevant depending on the time, and both of them should not be judged at any point following the morality of modern racialism.…
Dental, Visual and Hearing Loss Introduction The Senate is aware that hearing, vision, and dental loss are still not adequately covered by Medicare except for certain criteria; Yet, these disabilities combined cost less than heart attacks and major chronic illnesses. If certain revisions are made on the hearing, mental, and visual issues, the elderly would have a greater quality of life and independence. In turn, the cost of healthcare across the country would be less. Therefore, this brief seeks to address the benefits that government sources provide for a hearing, dental, and visual loss. Deficit Current benefits Still needed Vision Ø First, the government has been offering Social Security Benefits to patients who have a visual loss. Any patient meeting requirements of social security administration has been considered to receive monthly benefits across the United States (Williams, 2018). However, the victims must be in a situation where they cannot work anymore. Ø The second benefit offered by the American government to visual patients includes cash that is used to cater for basic needs through Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The…
Declaration of Martial Law Introduction Implementation of martial law is evidenced when the administration of law is transitioned from civil government to military rule. Martial law is declared in the wake of a crisis as well as responding to an emergency. Enactment of martial law comes with suspension of civil liberties, including protection from unacceptable searches, freedom of movement, speech as well as habeas corpus. Military control of the United States government was lastly seen in 1941 after the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor. It was after the declaration when the army governor ordered the suspension of labor contact, closure of schools, courts, froze salaries, imposed censorship of radio, private mail, and newspaper. Besides, a curfew was implemented, total blackout in addition to banning of alcohol selling. Some of the American citizens suggested that the implementation of martial law was nothing short of government dishonor of citizens’ rights. Differently, others saw it as a significant measure to enforce security. In light of the above, the paper will provide critical analysis of the rationale behind enacting martial law and its impacts on…
Cultural Deviance Every community has expectations regarding the way its members are supposed or not supposed to behave. Norms are guidelines or expectations for manners of conduct. Each society comes up with its standards for a mode of behavior. It also decides when the instructions have been disobeyed and even what actions to take. Norms change frequently. They also differ broadly among communities, and they can also vary depending on the various groups in that same community. Wherever individuals go, there are expectations concerning their behavior. Even inside the same community, these norms are different in multiple settings. For example, the way people are expected to carry themselves in a church is different from how they are expected to act in parties or even classrooms. Norms are also place-specific; thus, the things that are seen as appropriate in a particular country could be seen as so wrong in a different country. For example, in several African nations, it is ok for individuals in a movie theatre to shout frequently and even comment loudly concerning the movie. However, in America, individuals…
Critical Assignment Critique refers to a detailed assessment or analysis of something, especially political, art, literary, or philosophical theory. Critique examines or reviews the ideas of the original artistry and resonates with the current analogies (Baty, 2019). A lot of critiques have been based on artworks as most of the artists have a lot of meaning behind their arts. For instance, the Technicolor heart by Jim Dine. To understand this, the following is a critique of the photo. The Technicolor photo is in the shape of a heart painted with blue. On the surface, the artist applied different markings all over its surface. The heart art is on the right side when heading toward the building and few meters away from the footpath. It is on a well-maintained and green surfaces surrounded by withered trees. Jim dine had a lot of messages that he wanted to convey through this image. First, the choice of the color blue is perfect. Blue is associated with loyalty, confidence, heaven, and trust. Placing it right in front of the building serves as a reminder…
Collage This artwork is significant as it helps people to focus on biblical teachings. It also enhances an individual to consider a personal relationship with Jesus as His unflinching affection consistently remains. People can signify their dressing code as it means growth and maturity when they cloth themselves in His love. It is ageless, delicate, and has become an everyday practice. At the point when one delves further into God’s affection, each new layer highly solaces people. According to this creation it is evident and imperative to note that His pledge stands firm. This is when one makes a habit of creating such art daily,Therefore, it draws one close to spiritual matters and happiness. The collage was created in a model a layered a blend of Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White onto a bit of paper and secured it with cling wrap until it was practically dry. Subsequent to evacuating the cling wrap and drying the page, I returned over and layered the individual hues as features and shadows. I cut the page into strips and layered…

Analysis of Poems Relating to The Holocaust Death Fugue by Paul Celan In the year 1920, Paul Celan was born at Czernowitz Romania, and his parents spoke the German language. Paul went to study medicine in Paris, but he returned later to Romania before the outbreak of the Holocaust. During the Holocaust, Nazi Germany forced his parents to go and work at the Nazi concentration camp. Paul, on the other hand, worked for 18 months in a forced labour camp. Because of being unable to work, The Germans shot Paul’s mother to death and his father died of typhus. Paul, after escaping the camp, he settled in Bucharest and later in Vienna before returning to Paris. In the poem, we can notice the Nazi forcing the Jews to dig graves of their own, the efficiency of the Nazi killing machine, burning of dead bodies in order to save effort and space. The speakers have an ironic detachment, but we can realize the attitude is a result of having been worn down by the “black milk.” The guards kill and beat…
