Chemical Transport On-Site Best Practices The key to the minimization of chemical transportation on-site hazards is to ensure safe handling. Safe handling involves recognizing and observing the international regulations and directives that need to be followed while moving chemicals. By so doing, you’ll understand how to avoid risks and best practices for transporting chemicals on-site. If not well handled, the transportation of chemicals on-site can be disastrous and can bring substantial health-related, environmental, financial risks. There are a set of international directives and regulations that govern the movement of dangerous substances by rail, road, air, and sea. For instance, the ADR, which is a European agreement, regulates the carriage of hazardous goods by road. The Convention Covering International Carriage, Appendix C, governs the movement of dangerous substances by rail. On the other hand, the International Air Transport Association –IATA is responsible for moving hazardous goods by air through various provisions like ICAO instructions. Knowing these legislative frameworks enables you to understand best practices for safe chemical transportation. Similarly, knowing the precise risks associated with chemical transportation can help you learn…
A CHART SHOWING PERCENTAGE OF WOMEN WHO USE ALCOHOL ACROSS FIFTEEN (15) YEARS. I obtained the following data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and it includes the percentage of women drinking alcohol from the year 2002 to 2017, which was on the increase. An excel spreadsheet to create this visual representation of the data. It’s interesting to see alcohol intake rising among women, although sensitization and educating about the dangers of alcohol abuse has been on the rise. The chart shows increased alcohol consumption among women between the years 2002 and 2017. Several reasons might have caused the trend. The main reasons include stress due to increased activities and responsibilities among women. Changing social norms are the primary factor associated with this increased drinking menace in the United States. I find it interesting that the increase in alcohol intake among women is attributable to the feminist agenda. I mean, “what a man can do a woman can do better,” can it also apply to this situation? Is the path to equality among the different genders leading to such…
Rococo and Neoclassic Art. Rococo refers to a style of art, architecture, and decoration that emerged from Paris, France, in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries (Bycroft, 365). The term derives from the French word ‘rocaille’ meaning rock or rubble. Some authors refer to it as late baroque and another expression within the movement. This art has some characters, including asymmetrical values, pastel color palette, and curved lines. It also features sculpted molding, soft colors and some aspects of trompe l’oeil frescoes. They mostly depict themes that revolve around love, nature, classical myths, romantic encounters, and youth. The Venetian school influenced art through the use of erotic subjects, color, and Arcadian landscapes. It had painters such as Giorgione and Titian. Many authors first attributed the first piece, The Pastoral Concert to Giorgione, although it later became clear that it was one of Titian’s early works. It depicted and became the foundation of Rococo’s fete Galante, which is a courtship painting. The school of Fontainebleau also contributed to its internal design. When Louis XV took the reign in 1723, he…
Our future on Planet Earth Life on Planet Earth is supported by biological diversity. This implies that food that people eat, air people breathe, and the drinking water becomes a reality with healthy biodiversity. Nevertheless, this vital human lifeline is mostly threatened by some changes in nature that are brought about by either natural circumstances or social activities. The question that lingers on people’s minds is whether there is a technology that will help in keeping humans healthy and stable on planet earth and if there is, one needs to get the ones that hold the most significant promise to a sustainable future. For many years, people have misused natural infrastructures by modifying over 40% of the Planet Earth with catastrophic effects. Notably, people represent only 0.01% of all the Planet Earth’s life, but the impact people have on the ecosystems has caused 83% loss of wild animals in the world and 50% loss of the world’s plants (Palmer). This means that if species are being lost through extinction, the life web is destroyed. In return, ecosystems’ resilience is affected,…
Loudspeaker Design Introduction Speakers are a representation of the fantastic advancement of technology that has a profound impact on societal cultures. A loudspeaker is an electric sound-making machine that converts electrical signals into audio sound waves. Speakers are of different range and their overall quality, which is dependent on cost, size, and other various factors. Loudspeakers have different frequency ranges, such as woofer, subwoofer, squawker, and tweeter. The loudspeaker is enclosed in a cabinet to prevent damage and enhance the performance of the sound (Komiyama et al., 2003). The quality of a speaker is usually the ultimate factor that affects its output. Speakers, therefore, come in all shapes and sizes and enhance listening of music in all devices and environments such as iPods, phones, or film in cinemas. Understanding the electronic working of speakers requires the translation of the electrical signal into an audible sound. Sound is an essential aspect of a loudspeaker. The sound occurs after rapid changes in air pressure, which causes vibrations. Knowledge of sound production by a speaker can be best understood by understanding the basics…
Introduction (Location and why I picked Rio de Janeiro) My destination of choice was Rio de Janeiro. It is a municipality in Brazil. There are various reasons why I selected this destination. One of the primary reason is the cultural diversity of this city. It is the main cultural hub of Brazil with structures and building dating back to the 16th century. Notably, it is a city that shares a culture that descends from Portuguese, art and creation (Maia). Another reason is the beauty of the city regarding things like location, diversity, restaurants, and music. The city is the primary tourist attraction city in South America. The city receives more than 1.3 million tourists every year (Belen). The high number of the tourists is due to elements such as extensive natural beaches, word class hotels, Sugarloaf Mountains and the famous Corcovado. The city also has multiple theatres which are attractive and which are home to ballet, opera, and classical music (Telegraph). In particular, I am a great lover of the ballet music which makes Rio De Janeiro my destination of…

AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY DEPICTION ACCORDING TO “FENCES” The era of 1950’s and 1960’s in the history of Pittsburg has been presented as the high time when the African Americans were busy fighting for their civil rights. Mainly, they were striving to achieve goals of desegregating in public places and the enactment of impartial housing and employment laws which were mainly favoring the whites and discriminating the blacks. After the demolition of Hill District, the largest black neighborhood in the area is when major protests erupted (Bodnar, Simon & Weber, 2013). As a result, the Crawford Avenue in the Hill was branded the Freedom Corner because it acted as the intersection where protesters marched towards the city hall. Also, Freedom Corner acted as the departure point for Pittsburghers who trudged towards Washington to support Dr. Martin Luther King who was advocating for equal treatment for both the whites and blacks. It is during these years that blacks were making their initial strides in the struggle for equal civil rights in the society because they were being treated like lesser beings. Wilson’s…
Re: Potential Causes of Action for Breach of Contract and Specific Performance A contract is described as an agreement between two parties who agree on fulfilling the stated obligation. If one party fails to satisfy one of the requirements, he or she is said to have breached the contract. In this case, the worldwide auction house launches an auction set to sell Candies’ strapless giraffe dress to the highest bidder. Cassie playing the role of the auctioneer will grant the dress’s ownership to the person willing to pay the highest amount. Pearl, one of the bidders, offers $8500 for the dress, but Cassie refuses to grant her ownership. This situation is an example of a breach of contract because the Worldwide Auction House has an obligation to sell the dress to the person paying the highest amount. Therefore, it is inherent that a case is filed against Cassie for breach of contract. This is because she fails to satisfy her set of the bargain. It is important to note that a remedy in court law is a solution ordered by…
South Korean Cultural Experience Part of what makes South Korea unique is the manner in which the new norms blend right in with the traditional mores. As a visitor, it may be strangely challenging to connect with the cultural activities, traditions, and standards of the local people. This feat is especially difficult in the large cities such as Seoul. One may quite easily be immersed into the modern aspects of the city. As such, the overwhelming cosmopolitan facilities, social amenities, and modernization flavors that characterize these sorts of cities may dominate the visit alienating one from the true cultural experience of the people. In my visit to Seoul, I was able to capture the utterly unique and cultural value of the Korea. From face value, one could easily tell that the city has remained solidly Korean as characterized by the adamant retention of traditional architecture amidst rapid development and modernization as well as the warming traditions of the locals. The city is key to understanding the ways of the people through their history. As alluded to in the introduction, one…
