Green, and Daphne Bavelier. “Video games as a tool to train visual skills [REVIEW].” Restorative neurology and neuroscience, 2008, pp. 435-446. In accordance to Bavelier, Green and Achtman in Restorative Neurology & Neuroscience, video games can assist in rehabilitating people who have lost specific visual abilities due to neurological damage. In their study, they evaluated the skills of both people who play video games and those who don’t play in several areas like visual search tasks as well as peripheral vision tests. Bavelier, Green and Achtman argued that the outcome showed that those who played video games were better than those who don’t play video games. Even after the tests, they went ahead to test the training effects on non-video game players. That is, they continued testing some of non-players as a control group while recruiting others in video game playing who were initially not playing. The Statue of Dionysos leaning on a female figure (“Hope Dionysos) The Statue of Dionysos leaning on a female figure (“Hope Dionysos) restored by Vincenzo Pacetti, curated by Carlos A. Picon goes deep in depth into this inviting centerpiece figure with the leading personification of hope in which Picon states. A very welcoming figure of this holy figure, mainly a decorative piece believed to be in a courtyard, or villa back in its day. The figure appears to have long curly flows and short tight with animal skin all over it with a tall staff beside him. This beloved statue appears youthful in this sculptor and presentation of hope back in the 17th century. His left arm is placed on the female figure. The stature of Dionysos is wearing a cloak and his upper right arm and shoulder are covered by it. He is wearing high sandals and a panther or lion over his dress. The female figure looks as if giving Dionysos support to the left arm. She is wearing a long dress and holding some flowers.…

Writing About Music: Use “SHMeRF”! Each time one writes about music, the circumstances vary, yet certain issues exist that must always be addressed. To remember these details, look to SHMeRF! Each of your concert reports should address the elements of SHMeRF, which are: Sound Describe the performing forces: is it an orchestra or a single performer? What instruments are playing? Is there anything noteworthy about the timbre of the instruments/voices? What is the quality of the sound: brash, tender, spiky, smooth, etc.? What about texture: is the piece monophonic, polyphonic, or homophonic? Harmony Does this piece seem to be in a key or is it atonal? If it appears to be tonal, is it mostly major (“happy”) or minor (“sad”)? Does the sound of the harmony remind you of a specific type of music, such as jazz, blues, or rock? Does the harmony point to a specific era of music?[unique_solution] Melody Describe the quality of the melody. Is it mostly conjunct or disjunct? Legato or staccato? DELILAH MONTOYA VISUAL REPRESENTATION Delilah Montoya has had art exhibitions in various parts of the country, especially in Houston, Texas, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. In her art of an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe drawn on the front part of a faceless being of what could be a woman, we are going to present the role of religious iconologies to the people’s faith. The reason I chose the image is that it tries to describe what role the church and religion play in the community where people face different forms of struggles. Montoya, in the image, has a clear message she intends for the audience to understand. From many of the artist’s work, she has always tried to emphasize the role and struggles women go through in their lives, and this isn’t an exception. In the image, we see a faceless of what appears to be a woman with vegetation of cacti growing in front of her. The background represented in a vintage black and white form. Women have, for a very long period, been the subject of mistreatment…
