The plane began commercial activities in 2017 after initial deliveries within the same year. However, in less than two years of commercial operation, the plane caused multiple deaths in two fatal accidents. For instance, in the one year after beginning its business activities, the first accident was reported involving the flight, which occurred at Lion Air in Indonesia.
