It was first identified in Guangdong province in China in 2002 and thought to have originated from the bats from where it spread to other animals, the civet cats. In China, there were over 5,300 people infected and reported 349 deaths. The epidemic spread to 30 different countries in North and South America, Europe, and Asia, with the numbers shooting to over 8000 by 2003 before the outbreak was contained. Various forecasting methods are discussed in this paper, clearly stating their advantages and disadvantages. Forecasting methods are used in giving results for sensitive analysis and regression. There are four techniques used including straight line, moving average, simple linear regression and multiple linear regressions. Depending on the nature of results data, each method is applied differently (Ren, Suganthan & Srikanth, 2014). For example, simple linear regression is used to compare one dependent variable with an independent one while moving average is used for repeated forecasts.
