Washington’s Farewell Address Washington was such an intelligent leader. His departing speech as he retired was an evidence of his brevity and goodwill for the nation he was going to leave in other hands. Although determined to retire, the tone in the speech makes him feel wistful. Wistful because he was leaving a nation that so dearly relied on him for prosperity. As such, Washington left the nation with convictional advice to continue to protect the unity and happiness of all nationals. Washington is warry of the national unity of the nation. Although the regions are interdependent in a number of ways since each has a unique resource, the departing president feared that incoming political leaders and political ideologies would tear apart the bond. He, therefore, advises the people to firmly protect their liberties and unity because that is what will keep their happiness. To further cement this happiness, Washington advocates that the nation should not only be welcoming to citizens from outside but also endeavor to strengthen international ties that will open the nation to extra opportunities. However,…

Review of Self-Assessment Tasks Emotional Intelligence Emotional intelligence is the ability to make sense of and manage your feelings and emotions, and those of people in your environment. It allows a person to take control of situations by considering how emotions are affecting their actions and those of others. I was able to score highly in this test because I answered the questions in a way that reflects my character. The experiment was designed to gauge how my behavior reflects my emotional intelligence. The questions required me to reflect on my behavior in the past and how I am likely to react if I was in a similar situation. Daniel Goleman (1996) suggests that five aspects are the most important to consider when measuring a person’s emotional intelligence. The five aspects are empathy, motivation, social skills, self-awareness, and self-regulation. I was able to demonstrate the traits of a highly intelligent professional by possessing all of these elements. Since there were no right or wrong answers, I was able to consider my real feelings and answer the questions honestly. My responses…
External Stressors that are Unique to adolescents Stressors are emotions, feelings, and factors that make an individual feel tense and anxious about a particular event or situation (Fahrenkamp and Sato, 2018). They elicit a stress response, which are physical reactions to an event, condition, or feeling that often interfere with a person’s sense of wellbeing. All human beings usually get affected by both internal and external stressors. It is, however, critical to note that despite the availability of various external stressors that the human species has to deal with, most adolescents across the world uniquely get affected by peer pressure and parental expectations. Teenagers often face a significant amount of pressure from their peers, who usually expect them to look, think, and act, all the time, in a particular predetermined fashion. Their failure to conform to these standards always generates pressure and stress from this group of friends. Parents can equally create tension for their teenage children when they impose higher expectations on them beyond their actual potentials (Deo et al., 2018). The adolescents would automatically feel stressed when they…
Anthropology 103 Human Evolution Bonus The chimps were feeding on a shrub known as Aspilia. The plant is believed to work as an antibiotic and could kill any disease-causing bacteria. It was believed to treat wounds and stomach ache among the chimpanzee community. DNA DNA is a biological molecule that stores all the genetic information of an organism. It contains coded information that defines an organism, and this information can be passed from parents to offspring during reproduction. The study of DNA is critical to determine processes that occurred during the evolution of human beings (Maslin, Shultz & Trauth, 2015). The detectable difference between human DNA and that of other primates is sufficient to give an estimate of how and when the two species branched apart during the evolutionary tree. Alfred Wallace Alfred Wallace is a naturalist who believed and came up with the theory of natural selection from which he believed all things, including humans, evolved. He believed that living things evolved from simple life forms over 3 billion years ago into complex beings, as seen in our…
Analysis of Chapter Five of Albert’s The Stranger Plot Chapter five of the text The Stranger starts with a phone call from Raymond to the narrator through the narrator’s office telephone line. The dialogue between Raymond and the narrator unravels the consequence of the ordeals that happened in the previous chapter when Raymond assaulted a lady she picked for pleasure, and the brothers are now trailing him. Quickly, the narrator gets summoned to his employer, who tells him about the intention of the narrator relocating to Paris to effectively deal with significant corporations quickly rather than relying on the postal address (Camus, 28). Though the conversation between the narrator and employer does not have conclusive agreement on relocation, one clear aspect is that the employer is concerned with the narrator’s lack of ambition. In the evening, the narrator meets Marie, who, in turn, asks him to marry her and exchange chats. However, the narrator’s commitment towards marriage and relationship remains unpromising as he gives Marie the usual uninspiring replies that lack commitments. As they part ways with Marie and he…
Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho “Joshua fit De battle of Jericho” is a well-known African American spiritual that glorifies the power and ingenuity of song. While its origin appears to be lost in time, it is believed that the song was composed in early 19th century America by plantation slaves working in the antebellum South. However, the first known recorded version was done by Harrod’s Jubilee Singers in 1922. The song is based on the Old Testament biblical account in the book of Joshua regarding the conquering of the city of Jericho by the Israelites. Joshua led the Israelite army to silently march around Jericho for six days, and on the seventh day, they blew their trumpets, culminating in the fall of the city walls. It is as if the song alluded to the fact that the enslaved people would ultimately achieve victory over the evil of slavery by singing their songs the same as the Israelites how Israelites achieved victory by blowing their trumpets. The song is considered to belong to the spiritual genre of music and, as…

National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan The National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan (NCISP) offers a path for collecting and analyzing intelligence products. In my opinion, the document is essential to local response to terrorism because it obtains information about terrorist plots within the nation’s borders. The NCISP shares intelligence information among state, local, tribal, and federal law enforcement and makes enhancements and modifications in their internal process to facilitate a smooth flow of intelligence (The National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan, 2003). Thus, it prevents terrorism by sharing information with other components of the federal government that take preventative actions. The NCISP builds on the recommendations that can promote effective and responsible criminal intelligence sharing. Recommendation 18 asserts that law enforcement officers in all the levels engaging in procedures of intelligence should receive tutoring. The training will be based on the standards set by the NCISP, and personnel will be awarded certificates on completing the training. I believe that recommendation 18 is the best because the training will equip the recipients with the skills and knowledge to ensure only the best decisions…
