Variation of Genetic Characteristics Among Africans Africans are generally considered black because of their dark skin colour. However, Africans have varying skin tones and hair textures despite them being of the same race. There are African-American people who have parents coming from both races. This people exhibit different characteristics from their parents in terms of hair texture, skin tone and facial features. There are several factors that influence the different skin tones and hair texture among Africans. Skin pigmentation is visibly different and variable in Africa. In countries close to the equator, you will find that the Africans there have darker skins compared to those living away from the equator. This is because they have more melanin composition which protects them from the harsh sun rays. This dark skin is capable of tanning when exposed to UVR and therefore preventing the naked skin from risks such as skin cancer. However, over the years, there has been significant climate and environmental changes that have influenced skin tone among Africans. Using the ideas on Literature by Plato and Aristotle, identify four main points by each of these classical theorists. Use these eight points to discuss the relevance of literary theory to literature studies. Literary theory refers to the body of ideas and the methods that we use in the practical reading of Literature. Literary theory mainly relates to the arguments that reveal what Literature can mean as well as the roles of Literature in society. It also describes the various underlying principles or tools by which people attempt to understand Literature. Literary theory formulates the relationship between an author and his or her work thus helping in developing the significance of race, class and gender for literary study. Literature theory is, therefore, crucial in the review of Literature as it equips Literature with basic and essential materials. On the contrary, literature materials can also affect the society both positively and negatively. This controversy on the effects of Literature in the community created differences between the great philosophers Plato and Aristotle. Considering the Platonic view of Literature, Plato argues that Literature…
Comparison of Poetry This essay compares and contrasts McKuen’s “Thoughts on Capital Punishment” and William Stafford’s “Traveling through the Dark.” Even though the two have comparable subjects, their rhythm and style differ. In my view, Stafford’s “Travelling through the Dark.” does better in conveying the message as compared to Rod McKuen’s “Thoughts on Capital Punishment.” I find that Stafford expresses his sentiments better than McKuen. An analysis of both poems portrays unhappy imagery of an animal slain why crossing a motorway. In McKuen’s “Thoughts on Capital Punishment,” the speaker starts by expressing a strong emotion towards individuals who drive carelessly and end up hitting innocent animals (McKuen, 2005). While reading the poem, I found that the speaker utilizes compelling word choice to make the readers empathize with how these innocent animals feel. Words like “hell, killing, and guts as elaborated by Cotter (2009), caught my attention, and I consider that the speaker was too harsh why delivering the message. Stafford’s “Traveling through the Dark” the speaker gives an emotional approach to the situation. Unlike the speaker in McKuen’s verse,…

Positivism Theory Introduction Positivism refers to the philosophical theory that maintains that certain or positive knowledge tends to be founded on the natural phenomena along with their relations and attributes. That is, the knowledge gained from the sensory experiences, and after that interpreted using logic and reason, always forms every certain knowledge’s exclusive source. Positivism, therefore, maintains that legitimate knowledge, which is either truth or certitude, can only be found in the posterior knowledge (Green, 2017). Given that positive facts or verified data obtained from such senses are referred to as the empirical evidence, and this leads to the observation that positives theory is mainly founded on empiricism. Further, positivism theory also maintains that the society, in a manner comparable to the physical world, operates as per the general laws. The intuitive and introspective knowledge cast off, similar to theology and metaphysics given that the theological and metaphysical claims are unverifiable through experience. In spite of the positivist approach being amongst the recurrent themes in relation to the western thought history, the approach’s contemporary sense was initially formulated in early…

Since this is the crucial equipment that I need soon, I am planning to use my remaining funding this year on it. The machine cost 18.5kSGD, including GST. I have almost 9k SGD equipment/OOE and therefore would need an additional 9.5k – 10k for that. Do you know if any lab would be interested in that? Kind wishes, Chon p.s. The model I chose is Precisionary VF-210-0Z, which includes all the latest tech for a smooth surface, except that the depth feeding is manual. The depth resolution is 10um, which is sufficient for our purpose (~200um). The 18.5 K SG(include GST) is calculated based on 14605 USD *85% (discount for this month) + 600 USD…
