Essay Analyzing Literary Elements Choose a text different from the one you wrote about in your other essay. For this essay you will analyze a literary element or elements in a text or compare the way an element or elements work in two texts. For example, you could analyze Edna as a character in The Awakening or compare Edna & Blanche as characters in The Awakening and A Streetcar Named Desire. You could analyze the relation of setting to plot, point of view in any of the fiction, or compare the way different writers present New Orleans. You may choose what you would like to analyze. I suggest beginning with a question about the element or elements you plan to analyze and read again passages that are pertinent to your question, then draw a conclusion from your analysis of the passages, which will be your thesis. Decide how to organize your essay to support your thesis and write your essay. Your essay should have a clear thesis, based on your analysis of the text, and any research you do. You…
Genre Project Assignment For your presentation, you will choose a text that has been assigned on our class calendar or poetry reading list and “translate” it into another genre. For example, if the original text is a poem, you could turn it into a short story or a script for reader’s theater; if the original text is a short story, you might create a poem or a script. Remember to follow the accepted conventions of your chosen form – for example, poems must be written in stanzas and employ rhetorical devices common to poetry (metaphors, imagery, etc.) Scripts must be written as a play would be (check our text). The adaptation of your chosen text must be submitted as a document or a PowerPoint, whichever fits best with the genre you choose. You may be as creative as you wish, while staying true to the original text. You will be graded on: Creativity and originality (you must do something that has not been done) Following the conventions of your chosen genre (eg – a script must be…

Attachment Patterns Introduction Attachment patterns can be termed as the biological connection that exists between a child towards a specific figure. The child might seem to discover comfort or threat in the attachment body. Therefore, children are known to have a sense of connection with the attachment bodies based on the reaction they perceive in them. An attachment figure can eliminate thoughts of hatred and fear from the child at such a tender age. Moreover, children seem to evaluate attachment figures that are responsible and authoritative depending on their actions towards the child. In this case, the figure might provide the kid with the needs he or she requires in the society. It can also be ready to facilitate communication and connection with the child. Consequently, it is right to depict that attachment theory elaborates on the development of the kids and the patterns they are like follow during growth. Hence, their caregivers of children from the period of birth serve to portray a connection with them. The children, in this case, grow and develop according to the experiences and…
The Theme of Gender Identity in Bechdel’s “Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic” “Overview of Same-Sex Marriage in the United States”. Religion and Public Life, Pew Research Centre, 2012, https://www.pewforum.org/2012/12/07/overview-of-same-sex-marriage-in-the-united-states/ This article traces the various victories that the struggle for same-sex marriage has won over the years. As the article notes, a thin line has been drawn between the opponents and proponents of same-sex marriage. Those who support same-sex marriage argue that its legalization will enhance the equality of rights while those against say that it will undermine the most consecrated heterosexual marriage. The different views have led to the emergence of debates and court battles. Reference is given to the Defense of Marriage Acts (DOMAs), passed by over 40 states, that marriage can only be established by a man and a woman. However, same-sex marriage has gained momentum, and victories have been realized in states such as Maryland, Washington, and New York. The Supreme Court is set to review the DOMAs and other courts’ decisions to give a ruling on the course the US constitution should take. This source is…
Confucianism Question 1 Confucianism believes that all humans have some good in them. It focuses more on the potential of human beings, not their weaknesses or flaws. As such, Confucius advocated more on a justice system that was focused not retribution but on self-restoration. Confucianism, therefore, focuses more on the rehabilitation of culprits in the home that they will be more humane and is not in support of strict penal codes or strict governance. Confucius believed that the rehabilitation of wrongdoers would lead to harmony in society. He thought that this kind of approach would enable wrongdoers to improve their inner qualities. This justice system placed more confidence and faith in people. Western laws, on the other hand, use stringent rules or guidelines to uphold peace and order in society. They emphasize the following of due process when it comes to solving disputes in society. While East Asian Philosophies advocate for disputes to be settled through mediation, western laws prefer litigation as the primary approach in dispute settlement, and mediation is only considered an alternative. The litigation approach favored by…
Hamlet Character Analysis Introduction Hamlet is a thoughtful and kind young gentleman who has studied at the University of Wittenberg (Shakespeare, 2003). He is over and over again seen to be irresolute and undecided, however at other times vulnerable to impetuous and rash actions. Hamlet represents the kind of character who is always overwhelmed with denial in life. He is careless yet careful, well-mannered yet lacking in manners, loving yet brutal, merciless, and insightful. Hamlet is seen to have undesirable characters like indecision, impulsiveness, abhorrence, and cruelty; however, he has many positive traits and good qualities. This essay is based on the discussion of the organization of two central characteristics, which are a thoughtful and melancholic character. Hamlet is a thoughtful and melancholic person in the play who makes decisions based on his thinking. The character Hamlet is seen to be the much-loved prince and much more a very thoughtful character. Distressed by the death of his father, he is just made more miserable Claudius, who was his uncle. While the spirit of his father, who was the king, informs him…
The Call of Jeremiah The research community has long been absorbed into understanding the relationship between Prophet Jeremiah, the Genesis, and then Deuteronomy. One of the intractable and persistent historical questions in studying the Old Testament is the interaction between the call of Jeremiah and Deuteronomy. Strikingly, this interconnection has been ignored in most scholarly actions. Roman Youngblood is among the scholars who have described Jeremiah’s call with the coming of the Messiah and the prophetic work of Moses. Jeremiah was early acquainted with the original Deuteronomy edition. This case can be expected to be real based on whether his career started in 626 or between 614 and 614 BC. A relationship that connects Jeremiah’s linking to the material, as found in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy, has been expressed. Specifically, Youngblood asserted that Jeremiah had a vocational understanding and likeness of Prophet Moses. Although figuratively Moses has been mediated in Jeremiah through the Deuteronomy, Youngblood expresses that there is evidence of negotiating him by materialism as in Exodus. There is an expectation that if Jeremiah likened himself to…
