EFFECTS OF PH ON ENZYME ACTIVITY Purpose The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of pH on catalase enzymeactivity. Introduction Every chemical reaction within the cell requires an enzyme to lower its activation energy. Even exergonic reactions happen too slowly to be useful without a catalyst. Almostall enzymes are proteins. To catalyze a reaction, the enzyme must interact with the reactant or reactants. This interaction takes place in a region of the enzyme called the active site. The reactant, or substrate for the enzyme, must fit perfectly into the active site of the enzyme in order for the enzyme to operate. Therefore, most enzymes are only able to catalyze a single chemical reaction. This is called specificity, and most enzymes are very specific (Cecamgmmacz, 2011). Under favorable conditions, the enzyme can operate with maximum efficiency, andthe chemical reaction occurs very rapidly. This is an enzyme’s optimum activity (Brooker,2011). Some environmental conditions, e.g. temperature and pH, can affect an enzymes activity. The concentration of enzyme or substrate can also have a dramatic effect on enzyme activity, and that…

corpus analysis study in Applied Linguistics Computational Linguistics is the branch of linguistics in which the techniques of computer science are applied to the analysis and synthesis of language and speech. Corpus-based studies follow two main pathways; either exploring available electronic corpora , or analyzing selected texts via computational analysis tools. In a research paper, develop a corpus analysis study in the one of the following fields of Applied Linguistics: Stylistics, Discourse Analysis, Translation & Contrastive Studies, TEFL. Suggested levels of analysis are: Semantic prosody Collocations Idioms Lexical choices – Neologisms Syntactic structures (verbs, adverbs, modal verbs, conjunctions) Pragmatic structures: hedges, deixis (pronouns)   Paper Introduction Background Aim of your paper / Research Question Theoretical Background (use 3 sources) Review of Literature (Mention at least 2 previous studies on your topic. You should mention the aim of each study and the findings of each study[unique_solution] Methodology Materials / Tools Data Analysis (including snapshots) Results & Discussion Conclusion Summary Limitations Implications/Recommendations for further research References Appendix (snapshots of your data which is excluded from the word count)   *  Remarks Include…

Benefits for First Time Offenders Mandatory sentencing that has existed in this country since the 1970s has brought more damage than benefits. The population of the inmate has increased intensively, propelling prison cost to bankrupt stages, while less impact on the crime being reported. First-time offenders who might have needed a second chance are right off and introduced into a life that forces them back to crime. The development of programs that prevent incarceration of first-time offenders could be helpful in rehabilitation and to avoid repeat crime, while at the same time reduce over-crowding in prison (LaMance, 2019). Such programs could be focused on providing an enabling environment for first-time offenders to be able to learn, improve, and grow in a way that makes them useful members of the public (LaMance, 2019). New Jersey lawmakers should propose legislative acts in favor of first-time offenders because it will decrease the rate of recidivism, allow offenders to further their education, and stop first time offenders from being discriminated against. The development of programs that prevent incarceration of first-time offenders reduces recidivism, especially…

Application of Statistics in Healthcare By definition, statistics is a broad term that involves the practice of collecting and conducting an analysis of statistical data in massive quantities. Normally, statistics is often a small representation of a group. Over time, statistics has been used in the healthcare sector for various meaningful reasons. The paper aims at detailing the contribution that statistics is making in the healthcare sector with a great focus on the implication of this concept on safety, health promotion, quality improvement, and leadership. Statistics has had a positive impact on all aspects of patient safety, quality, health promotion, and leadership. Regarding quality, significant progress has been made in the improvement of patient outcomes, thanks to statistical knowledge. Quality service delivery, especially in the nursing sector, is dependent on evidence based practice (Kim & Mallory, 2014). By definition, evidence based practice relates to a type of practice that is informed by research. Research is only possible if a scientist has all the basics of statistics because he or she will be tasked with the mandate of collecting data through…

Article critique The article “Ethics in American Public Administration: A Response to a Changing Reality” seeks to address current pressing issues such as climate change, immigration, among others. The article employs ethical lenses to address these issues. Moreover, it recognizes the fact that American public administration ethics have not evolved in a vacuum. I agree with the author’s stand that administrative ethics have changed over a period due to being influenced by technology, legal, political as well as social forces. For this reason, I concur that ethics have not evolved through omission but rather have evolved by addition. It is evident from the abstract that ethics have played immense roles in addressing some of the pressing issues in society. In the first paragraph, the article centers on how to approach various moral and normative questions in multiple organizations. In as much as the importance of ethics in public organizations has been addressed by other authors. This article stands out since it features particular ethical challenges and concerns that have not discussed in public administration. Indeed, the article is quite significant…

Data Science Be Used In the Fight against Terrorism In the late 20th century, the world was fighting a new enemy, Terrorism. The enemy showed no mercy and would go to extreme lengths to make a point. The 9/11 terror attack in the US put an end to negotiating with terrorists. Data science has come a long way. It has evolved in a manner that it can be used in security prevention. In the era of big data, it almost impossible not to leave a data print. Terrorist are bound to make mistakes along the way. When they do, Data science pipeline will flag them off. The RAND Database of Worldwide Terrorism incidents (RDWTI) and THE Global Terror Database contain necessary information on all the terror attacks that happened as far as the 1970s.In the era of Big Data, it is easier to collect, store and analyse data on a large scale. From the data, we can extract an individual’s activities and associations. To be able to apply data science in the fight against terror, we need first to understand…

How did I decide I wanted to do CA? So this was today’s question, and after reading everyone’s response, my decision to take was total ownership of me.   After writing my heart out, I just wanted to write 3-4 sentences; I came to realize this article got too big (over 500 words). So if you are looking for a summary, I just took CA as full responsibility without anyone’s recommendation.   But if you want my personal experience on it and some life insights (maybe you may get your own some), read it. 🙂   I wanted to do BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) because I love computers so much (even today, I have helped a lot of friends to make computers from the scrap). But the specifically I did BCA was because I was not too fond of maths. I couldn’t;t get Binominal theorem into my brain.   But later, I found out Indian School System rewards the steps and the process. How you get the answer, and they want us to get to the answer the same…

Do scientists have a moral obligation to use chemistry for purposes like the one stated above? Why or why not? The scientists have a moral obligation to use chemistry for the purpose of detecting proper liver function. This is because it is their duty to come up with the solution for real-world problems. For instance, it will be of great significance to the developing countries where diagnosis cost is relatively high; however, with the paper-based, numerous people will be able to test their liver function. Considering the majority of the persons living in developing countries suffer from a liver-related illness, the paper-based measuring device will solve such cases.   How else can chemistry be used to make a positive impact on the world? Chemistry can be used to assist in understanding, monitoring, protecting, as well as improving the environment. Chemistry can be used to develop tools and techniques to ensure we see and measure water and air pollution. Moreover, it can aid in building evidence that indicates how climate will change over time. Chemistry can also be used as part…

The Effects of Economic Growth on Social Structures ABSTRACT. This study breaks down the relationship between social factors and economic growth. An outline of the social and economic condition is displayed for Germans. All things considered, the paper breaks down the worldwide advancement of social and economic conditions after some time and builds up an immediate connection between human improvement and economic welfare. An econometric model and a bunching model are tried for European Union nations. The aftereffects of the paper uncover the social factors that are emphatically associated with the economic growth (for example the personal income) and, separately, the factors that are adversely related with the economic growth (for example age, educational level, and gender)     INTRODUCTION. None of the economic themes caught the consideration of the financial analysts, and government officials, as the idea of economic growth. This is because of the significant centrality of the theme upon the whole populace in a nation, which made the upkeep or improvement of the economic condition a goal of the macroeconomic approach, on short, medium, and long haul.…
