Illuminating the Past One of the events that I attended was Illuminating the Past. The event exhibited utilitarian ceramics of the ancient world. It was conducted at the Miami University Art Museum there on 14th November. According to the report from the Miami University Art Museum, the presentation will last from 27th August to 14th December. There are a few artists that will be available during the exhibit, but Juliet Graver will be the one to make it a reality. In 2013, Harvey and Deborah Breverman of buffalo donated ancient ceramics to Miami University of Art Museum. The donations comprised of approximately one hundred and thirty-one ancient ceramics and bronze pieces. Most of the arts that were donated to the university were produced at around 1800BCE-1500CE. The exhibits generally comprised of seventy-eight oil lambs, figural pieces, numerous bronze metals and utilitarian vessels. The items originated from different parts of the world like Israel, Egypt, Greece, east Mediterranean, Cyprus, and Italy. The event took place in one of the rooms in the Museums it had many ceramic objects all around. For…
Rhetorical Lens An organ transplant should be a free and open operation where the donor is willing and aware of the consequences. Many countries struggle with a shortage of organ transplants since the victims have to wait for an individual to die as it is difficult to get a healthy donor. The national kidney foundation opposes the efforts to legalize the purchase of human organs used for transplantation. The institution also urges the government to retain the prohibition because the human body is not for sale. Offering money in exchange for human body organs diminishes the dignity of many humans and may not be a solution for reducing the huge number of patients awaiting organ donation. The national kidney foundation says that if the government enacts laws that allow organs to be sold, it will diminish our value as humans, and we will be viewing our bodies as objects that make us rich. Many financially unstable people may be tempted to sell their organs, which is ethically wrong as a society. Some societies, like the Chinese, pay individuals willing to…
critical issue facing the Skittles brand The critical issue that is facing the Skittles brand is publicity. This issue can be traced back to the shooting incident that led to the death of Trayvon Martin. Martin was carrying Skittles during the time of his death. Due to this, people started to see the Skittles as a symbol of Martin’s death, and therefore they decided to sell it as a way of creating awareness. This affected the company because of the divergent views of the society about that incident. Some believed Skittles being referred top as the symbol for that death was increasing the sales of the company. This increase in the sales was, therefore, benefiting the brand and its parent company, Mars. They felt that the brand was supposed to donate to the family of Martin. However, Brand managers agreed that the brand, Wrigley and Mars were in a very delicate position. This is because any action they would take in connection with this incident would include illicit different views among its audience. In case Mars decided to speak out…
Do you have an ethical obligation to address this issue? Social work goes hand in hand with advocacy and social services. Being a social worker, I am held by social and advocacy ethics to address matters of advocacy. Many people seek social work services. When social services cases observe a common vein, advocacy comes in to find changes in the system. System changes address social needs on a deeper level, covering common issues for the entire community. Advocacy gives voice to the society’s needs, bringing them to the attention of relevant authorities, who then put policies in place to address the raised issue (Dalrymple et al., 2013). It is, therefore, the moral and ethical duty of a social worker to address advocacy issues on the society they serve.. Elaborate on the difference between providing service and advocacy. Providing service involves directly or indirectly addressing a need that a client has to ensure its resolution to the client’s satisfaction. Service provision is focused on a client at a time. Even though many clients may come with different versions of the same…
Initial Coin Offering[ICO] ICO is an abbreviation for Initial Coin Offering. It’s the cryptocurrency industry’s similar to Initial Public Offering (IPO). An ICO is simply a way of raising funds, and that’s why every company intending to raise funds to develop an app, service, or new coin has to launch an ICO. Anyone interested in ICO can buy into the offering and, in return, receive a new cryptocurrency token provided by the company. This token is simply a representation of the stake in the company. How does an Initial Coin Offering Work? As said mentioned above, an ICO is a popular method of raising funds to be used by startups looking to offer products and services correlated to blockchain space and cryptocurrency.. Every time a cryptocurrency startup intends to raise funds via ICO, it usually creates a whitepaper defines the details of the project, the purpose of the project, the amount of money required, the exact number of virtual tokens instigators will retain, they type of money that will be allowed, and the length the ICO campaign…
Organ transplant a rich man’s treatment Incidences of organ donation without explicit consent. Organ transplant from executed inmates. Organ-trafficking Taking advantage of poverty to perpetuate illegal-organ transplant Luring and conning the poor Expensive organ transplant limiting the ability of poor people to afford organ transplant Hypothesis Medical-related organizations have turned a blind eye to an illegal organ transplant due to capital benefits. Danovitch, G. M., Shapiro, M. E., & Lavee, J. (2011). The use of executed prisoners as a source of organ transplants in China must stop. American Journal of Transplantation, 11(3), 426-428. This journal explores the international ethical standards and fairness in the use of executed prisoner’s organs in countries like China. It is one of the many journals published by the American Journal of Transportation to highlight the exploitation of executed prisoners’ organs. The journal puts more emphasis on the exploitation of the prisoners, who are mostly deemed poor, to raise ethical concerns that are associated with organ transplants. The literature pursues unacceptable practices that have been formulated regarding organ transplant and their effects on the less fortunate. I will…

Policy, public policy, social welfare and social welfare policy Midgley argues that an understanding of the meaning of social policy requires an understanding of the meaning of social welfare. He defines social welfare as a condition or state of human well-being that exists when peoples’ needs are met, problems are managed, and opportunities are maximized. He contrasts this with what he refers to as “social illfare” – the opposite of social welfare. o Social illfare exists when human needs are not met, when social problems are not effectively managed, and when there are very limited opportunities for improving life chances. Midgley further argues that this broad definition of social welfare is in contrast with many standard definitions. Conventional definitions of social welfare describe it as a range of services provided by charities and government social services agencies to poor, needy, and vulnerable people. This conventional meaning of the term implies that only particularly unfortunate or needy people have welfare needs that should be addressed by charitable organizations and public welfare departments.[unique_solution] It…
Blood Typing Purpose: The goal of this experiment to determine different types of blood groups and the rhesus factors present in human blood. Hypothesis: I hypothesize that the blood serum is made up of type A, type AB, type B and type O blood groups having a rhesus positive or rhesus negative blood group. Introduction A person blood group can be known by conducting a blood typing test. This test is essential when determining the compatibility of different blood groups during a blood transfusion or blood donation. The blood type is characterized depending on the antigens present on the red blood cell surface. Antigens make the body to be able distinguish its blood cells from foreign blood cells. When carrying out blood typing, the serum is reacted with the red blood cells of known blood groups and known serum types. Blood typing system classifies blood types into four different groups namely: type A with the A antigen, AB with both A and B antigens, type B with the B antigen, and type O which neither has A nor B antigens.…
