Leadership in Organization I think that evaluation of leadership ethics and morality is a bit difficult in the organization because evaluating an individual’s ethics and morals happen to be quite relative, and the interpretation of such findings or results may be viewed differently (Sidani and Rowe, 2018). Therefore in evaluating the moral and ethics, in other words, means that you develop a tool that ensures the alignment of the individual leader’s behavior on the job and the organization’s values. One of the factors causing difficulty is the growth of the business. The organization focuses mostly on profit-making and doesn’t adhere to the ethical and moral aspects of leadership. Furthermore, I believe that as the business organization grows, it becomes more difficult for making assessments and evaluations because it is possible to lose track of individual leadership morals and ethics. This implies that lack of consistency in adhering to the regulations and policies, especially in leadership, makes it challenging to evaluate ethics and morality. Moreover, ethics tend to be complicated, especially in their evaluation; therefore, to ensure that the assessment is…
Traditions and Cultures of Egypt Introduction The name Egypt is part of the folklore in many societies that many young people associate with so many different things. It is indeed hilarious unbelievable that many people still think that the things talked about Egypt in the bible are still the same. Imagine a case where Pharaoh is your leader, and the pyramids are part of history, this is what Egyptian culture has had to offer for several years. I have had the pleasure to learn about the Egyptian culture firsthand; hence I have a great recollection of some of the key facets of this unique and great culture. There are key aspects of culture that I managed to learn. One of the most fundamental things that I would like to concentrate on would certainly be the fact that the Egyptian culture has three main segments. The most vital segment is religion. The second one is indeed the issue of family and family structure as well as food. There are other minor aspects of Egyptian culture, such as hospitality, among others. Based…
Role of Culture in Influencing Social-Economic Growth of People Introduction There have been several correlational studies that have been done to establish the role of culture in the social, economic growth of a given people or society. Most of the studies that have been done have stated that positive cultural underpinnings have a key role in the promotion of social, economic development of people hence the need to understand how vital the culture is in spurring economic and social growth of the people. There have been cases where cultural practices have been described as limiting. There have been several countries that have relied heavily on their socialistic cultures which have certainly ended up lagging when it comes to the social-economic development. In such societies, people try to do things as a society as opposed to individual success (Pudianti et al., 2016). This is to mean socially, they may perform quite well, but when it comes to the other aspects, it may surely have been indeed different in the capitalist society. A huge number of people in the case of East…
Leisure and Culture What is Conspicuous leisure Veblen explains that human beings can choose what they do with their time, and this affects the way they perform. He states that previously in the earlier days and societies, people were more concerned with creating something tangible. The main aim was to strive to become productive in all that one did, as this was a labor class that needs to be well defined, and there was a need to create a better society. But as the society grew and people got wealthier, there developed a social class who had all they needed and thus felt no need to ensure their creativity. Leisure is described as any activity that is done, and that does not yield any visible productivity that is tangible. Conspicuous leisure, as defined by Veblen, refers to those activities that people engage in just as a means of displaying their social status. This was a result of the growing social class, and it is purely motivated by social factors, as they always aimed at making other people aware that they…
American invasion on Iraq The American invasion led in 2003 has done less than increase war conflicts in Iraq. The state of war has damaged security system and caused deterioration in human rights especially women. Iraq women who once enjoyed high levels of rights and protection and were able to socially participate in their country activities now suffer a sad fate in the hands of the same protection. The priority that was given in protecting women and girls has been blown away by the war incidents that only increased after the US invasion. Militias promoted ideologies that led to women being targeted for assassinations and intimidations that has forced them to stay out of public life. Victimization of women and girls has increased even in their own homes. Women are now being killed by their own fathers, husbands and brothers for a various acts that are said to bring shame to the family and to the tribe. And seeking for official protection from the violence only gets them a larger risk of public harassment and abuse from all- male Iraq’s…
Spanking as punishment for children Spanking denotes the use of hands to strike the buttocks of another person to cause physical harm. It can also involve the use of objects such a cane, belt, or whip to beat another. It is a controversial means of discipline for several reasons. It may cause injury to the child, as its sole purpose is to inflict pain. According to the American Psychological Association, spanking relates to such outcomes in children as an increased aggressive behavior, antisocial instances, and also damage to their mental health. Research by Pace, Lee & Grogan (2019) covering 69 countries in the low to medium-income bracket showed that there is a correlation between spanking children at a young age and their socioemotional development in later years. The means of punishment is controversial because despite all the study into its negative impacts, some parents, especially in low-income backgrounds, believe in its effectiveness. I do not support the use of spanking of children as punishment. It is a violent form of correcting children that, in most cases, hurt them more…
Does gender discrimination contribute to poverty and other social problems among women? Introduction From time immemorial to date, gender discrimination has been the order of the day among many countries, with women being the most oppressed or discriminated in most of the government settings across the globe. Controversy, however, exists on the actual definition of gender discrimination, with many researchers each voicing out their perspective. Gender discrimination occurs when one is denied the privilege, the opportunity, or rather a reward on the grounds of gender. Literally, it is the practice or the idea of making substantial decisions basing on the gender aspect.[1] Gender discrimination entails the action whereby one is unfavorably treated basing on gender.[2] It is believed that gender discrimination and, more specifically, women discrimination is an enemy of progress since the lack of access to many social aspects such as good health and education impacts negatively on the economy of the country. In a male-dominated society, women are perceived to be inferior and are denied privileges and priorities that are enjoyed by their male counterparts as of the…

A Simple Heart: Theme of love A simple heart by Gustave Flaubert describes the life, the affections, and the sufferings of a kind maidservant called Felicite. Although felicity means happiness, Felicite did not know any real joy, and she faced a lot of frustrations in her life. Naturally, suffering brings along animosity, but Felicite chose a different path of loyalty and love for all. Although a lot of pain is vivid in the text, there is a sufficient expression of affection towards people and nature. Felicite is described as a hardworking employee. Although she was treated in an inhumane way, her undying loyalty for her job is evident. Orphaned at a tender age, Felicite worked diligently in a farm enduring hardships until she was dismissed. “ She used to shiver under her rags and drink water out of the ponds on an empty stomach; she was beaten for nothing at all and was finally dismissed for theft of thirty sovereigns, a crime she had not committed” (31). Madam Mme Aubain later employed Felicite. Despite madam Aubain being a hard person…
A Villain’s Journey Whether one is a hero or a villain depends on the society they live in. Normally, for one to be considered a hero, they must me someone the society looks up to. They fight for what the society justifies as right. Similarly, villains are viewed as evil and corrupted people, their beliefs are rejected by a majority of the society and are branded as evil. In many cases, villains seek to achieve their goals by using unorthodox means. To them, the end justifies the means. Where a hero is recognized, a villain is held in contempt. There are some cases where villains were once heroes but due to circumstances, they are forced to become villains. In the book “The Iliad of Homer”, we see the mighty battle worrier Achilles who refuses to take part in the battle because of many disagreements with Agamemnon who is the army chief. His withdrawal from the battle unfolds many unfortunate events even among his friends and fellow warriors. During his time out in the battle, his best friend is killed by…
