Response 1: An analysis of Huyser et al.’s research “Civic engagement and political participation among American Indians and Alaska natives in the US” by Kimberly R. Huyser, Gabriel R. Sanchez, and Edward D. Vargas seeks to answer the question of what affects American Indian and Alaska Natives’ political participation. More specifically, Huyser et al. examine the factors that influence civic engagement of AI/ANs in order to determine if they vary among other racial and ethnic minorities. The term civic engagement is defined as “one’s level of or involvement in: empowerment and political action; groups and networks; trust and solidarity; information and communication; and social cohesion and inclusion” (Huyser et al. 2016, 5). In addition to civic engagement, Huyser et al. also explore voter registration and voting to analyze a broad range of political participation. By doing so, they are able to determine what factors specifically influence the political engagement of this small minority group. Determining the level of political participation of AI/ANs is important to the broader scope of minority group politics. Analysis of AI/AN political participation is necessary…

MASTERS APPLICATION Personal Achievements I would like to pursue Masters in Data Science. I completed Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science in 2011. I am currently working as a software tester. I decided to pursue Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science because of my love for information technology and science. It is through the course that I have managed to develop analytical skills which is crucial for management and in doing future projects. The course focused on elements such as oriented programming, systems object, database management, operating systems and research. It is through the topic of operation research that I acquired problem solving skills using mathematical optimization, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling I selected Soft Computing subject during my last semester, which enabled me understand better evolutionary computation, machine learning, and business intelligence. The subject also enabled me to acquire skills in probabilistic reasoning. The reasoning skills combined with problem solving skills, enabled me to improve my capabilities of applying scientific knowledge when predicting the future outcome. I also learnt data mining and data warehousing that stores historical and current…
Outlining Your Speeches in P155 Be sure to watch the outlining video guides by Professor Arthos. The links to the videos appear in the Modules section of your lab’s Canvas page. J In P155, we’re going to be using a few key terms related to organizing your speech: an outline refers merely to a formatting system for sketching out your ideas in words without writing out the entire speech word for word. Think of an outline as a container, into which you put the various parts of your speech. This format involves roman numerals, capital letters, standard numbers and lower case letters combined with indentation. We will also be talking about organizational patterns or speech patterns. Those patterns refer to the order of the elements of your speech, and each speech assignment will have its own required pattern (or choice of patterns). Once you have made a choice about which pattern is best for your speech, you will then construct an outline using the basic structural format you see on the next page. Let’s say it’s…
Examination of A Social Setting My social observation was done at Tim Horotns Coffee shops. The observation was done at three locations which include 65 Queen Street West, 218 Yonge Street, and 261 Yonge Street. It was evident that the coffee shops were the central meeting place for young adults in this section of town. During this observation, the coffee shops were full of customers, and it seemed as if it was a refreshing time for many young people to catch up on the day’s events and highlights of the week. Indeed, the setup of the coffee shops provides a meeting point or a setting of socialization that is key in shaping a society’s social patterns. In this observation, I relate the sanctions and norms of individuals or groups within the setting of Tim Hortons Coffee Shop. As I watched the norms and the culture of the human interactions in the cafés, it is critical to note the descriptions of sanctions and norms. Norms can be described as a set of guidelines that shape a group’s behaviors, values, and beliefs;…
Performance Measurement (KPIs) Quality Control Key performance indicators are crucial in managing the performance of employees in an organization. The performance indicators are the physical values that help to measure, manage, and compare the overall performance of the organization (Bhatti, Awan & Razaq, 2014). In human resource management, KPIs would only be effective and valid when the organization applies them comprehensively and consistently (Gabčanová, 2012). While one might think that the mere identification, definition, and formalization of KPIs is enough for the organization, this is not enough. Quality KPIs should align directly with the goals, objectives, and strategies of the organization. Therefore, all KPIs should affect a business decision in a particular timescale, depending on the available time. Effective KPIs should meet specific criteria. As noted by Gabčanová (2012), they should be sparse, implying that the organization should strive to make them as few as possible. They should also be drillable hence allowing users to drill them into detail. Simplicity is the other crucial aspect of KPIs in HR that helps all users to understand them. Quality KPIs should also…
Brady v. Maryland Case Name Brady v. Maryland Inherited Rule The suppression of the undisclosed confession/evidence by the prosecution before the trial was a violation of the Due Process Clause provided in the Fourteenth Amendment of the constitution.(Brady v. Maryland, 1963). Relevant Facts Before the trial (which the petitioner was convicted and sentenced and the ruling was affirmed) Brad’s counsel had requested the prosecution to give him a chance to examine Boblit’s extrajudicial statements. Some of the statements were provided however, one the statements in which Boblit admitted the actual homicide, was not disclosed by the prosecution and the petitioners counsel were not aware of it until their client was already convicted and sentenced after the trial (Brady v. Maryland, 1963). New Information about the Rule Non disclosure of the information by the prosecution to the defense before the trial violates the due process as provided by the fourteenth amendment in the constitution and this calls for unfair trial by the court to the alleged criminal despite whether the evidence is a material which prompts either guilt or punishment upon…
