The police are still investigating the issue to find out what exactly happened because it is an unusual scenario that could mean a serious security threat. The school spokesperson said that the gun was found when the student was going through the school’s metal detector. A staff member discovered the firearm inside the student’s backpack. According to Ebony Pugh, the District spokesperson, the school officials have information on how the student obtained the gun. However, she said that it was too early to disclose the details.
