Assessment processes in nursing practice Assessment of patients is a crucial component of nursing care that is required for the planning and provision of patient-centered care. Besides, the assessment of patients enables a nurse to make a correct diagnosis. Nursing assessments can be an initial assessment, emergency assessments, shift, or focused. According to Mahmoud & Yearwood (2019 ), before a nurse conducts a patient assessment, there should be an indication for the evaluation, which often requires critical thinking. Assessment process used in my daily nursing practice In every shift of nursing care, patients need to be evaluated for their state of well-being and the progress to their recovery, which is referred to as shift assessment. Also, a patient’s condition could change during a shift, and nurses need to perform a focused assessment. The information obtained during the commencement of a shift is used to make plans of care, and any change in patient’s condition is recorded in the continuing nurses’ notes (Alfaro-LeFevre, 2013). Critical thinking should be used to determine the extent of assessment required for each patient. However,…
Stress and Strain Analysis of a Wrench A wrench is described as a tool, which is used in applying a specific torque to some objects such as nuts and bolts, to a fastener. It further keeps the tools from turning. A bending beam is more related to a wrench. This is because, according to some viewed observations, applied load from one side of a wrench, is similar to a cantilever beam. However, this paper is aimed at discussing the stress and strain analysis of a wrench. Pro/Mechanica is a package in the Pro/Engineer’s suite that is often used by designers in analyzing the stresses and deformations of s wrench, when it is used in tightening a nut (Engineer’s Solutions Suite: The Platinum Edition 37). While performing a wrench analysis, an individual should focus on the types of load that will be on the wrench. For instance, a bearing load will cause more stress to the wrench, since it will simulate the wrench tightening a nut (Palaščáková et al. 44). This occurs especially when a person applies a force of…
Uniqlo Analysis Situation Analysis When looking at Uniqlo, there are several things to consider about its situation in the market. One of its strengths is that it had grown in a significant way for the last twenty years, thus becoming among the four largest fashion retailers globally. When it comes to weaknesses, one of its major weaknesses was competition. The company had competitors such as the H&M and Inditex, which were opening new stores in the mainland. The company had an opportunity to attract more consumers, especially from Asia. Consumers from Asia were hungry for trendy fashion wear. The company was facing threats from the fast fashion companies H&M and Inditex, which were going global and investing in other retail shops. Key Problem According to the interview which was carried out, three major problems were identified from the customers. One of the issues was the prices. The two women kept mentioning how it was expensive to purchase accessories from Uniqlo. According to them, they were forced not to purchase some of the goods due to high prices. Another problem was…
Adenocarcinoma of the Colon Why the patient presented the described symptoms Adenocarcinoma of the colon is a type of colorectal cancer that is characterized by abnormal growth of large intestines cells. The primary function of healthy colon includes reabsorption of fluids and processing elimination of waste products from the body. Therefore, colon cancer affects these normal functions of the large intestines and causes changes in bowel movement habits. Altering the bowel habits in return can cause constipation, cramps, and abdominal pains, which are probably why these were some of the symptoms the patient presented (Huang & McGee 2019). Also, the lack of fiber in the patient’s diet can be explained as another reason why patient-reported constipation as a symptom. Fiber dietary helps in fighting bloating and constipation by making the stool thicker and more natural to eliminate, and it relives abdominal pain as well by reducing pressure on the abdominal veins. The patient is also under risk of inherited diverticulitis, which is why the pain was explicitly on the left lower quadrant. The high fevers the patient presented could be…

GETTING HOMELESS OFF THE STREETS The Literature Review A good literature review does more than provide a record of your research, it organizes and synthesizes your research in a way that defines the boundaries of your subject, provides clarity about the cultural, historical, and political progression of your subject, shows the gaps in thinking/research in the subject, as well as explains and summarizes the current state of the subject and outlines potential avenues of exploration. The literature review is meant as much for the researcher (an early vehicle to organize their own thinking about the subject as well as the beginning assessment of their own relationship with it) as well as for any potential researcher in the future who might follow in your footsteps, someone who might build on your own advocacy. A good literature review, then, will include the following things: [unique_solution]1) An introduction that clearly identifies the perimeters of the subject and provides any historical/contextual background information. 2) A robust narrative of your findings (an explanation of what the current research/debate/conversation/thinking about the subject) that is grouped and…

REFLECTIVE NURSING This course has helped me immensely in shaping my nursing practice skills, knowledge and attitude towards nursing care. By broadening the view of nursing and health from bedside to global, there has been need to improve the quality of care and implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes (Nettina, & Nettina, 2016). For instance, the emphasis being put on documentation of patient care and its importance did not initially have a significant impact on my practice. Nurses are good at the documentation, but do we review doctor’s updates before beginning patient care? In the hemodialysis unit, a doctor documented that no heparin was to be used in Mr. Y due to the presence of hematoma in the head. It was only when the patient went into a hypotensive state that the doctor pointed out what she had written. So there is no essence in documenting if we don’t review patient notes before beginning procedures. What impacted my practice is the nurse-sensitive indicators. When nursing care is evaluated using the stipulated quality indicators, it is evident that nurses do…
