The manufacturing corporation was recognizing cash after receiving from external sources, including clients, banks, and investors. Peer Response Hello Rachel, I agree with your perspective on the assigned readings on the discovery of America. I found the topic to be exciting as it gets to talk much about how America was founded in 1492. It also discusses some of the discoveries that were made during the period. One of the discoveries was by Christopher Columbus over his first voyage. I found it amusing to learn about his navigation, where he hoped to rule the Mongols upon his arrival. The fact that he even wished to become the ruler but got limited makes a  lot of sense as, during the days, there was a lot of competition. Due to the intensity of the competition, it was difficult for Columbus to meet his goals.  At one point, he even had no idea of the role he had played in the world until later on. I equally agree that America evolved from Amerigo Vespucci, which is one of the points that amused me in the entire reading. Growing up as a child, it was common to be told that…

Peer Review. It is indeed true that the expulsion of the Cherokees was mainly due to the interest in arable land during the widespread development of cotton horticulture in the Southeast. However, it was not the only reason; the revelation of gold on Cherokee land was another reason and also the racial preference that many white southerners harbored toward American Indians. The whites were likewise displeased with the Cherokee religious and cultural practices. It was due to these above reasons that the Federal government sent troops that ousted the Cherokee Indians from their genealogical country in the Southeast and expelled them to the Indian Territory in what is presently Oklahoma. I agree that personal Computing was a mad rush to offer solutions to the enormous gap in the market for computers. The PC was conceived not for recreation, yet out of a need to tackle a dire calculating crisis. By 1880, the U.S. populace had increased so enormously that it took over seven years to classify the U.S. Evaluation results. The administration sought for a quicker method to take care…

The turn of the 18th century The turn of the 18th century was known in Paris as the “Belle Époque” or “Beautiful Age” due to the growth of democratic systems of government combined with the economic benefits of the Industrial Revolution and Scientific Advancement. Those who benefited from the changes shared a sense of optimism, while the specter of war and economic inequality led others to fear and resentment (Chapter 18/Module 2). The arts and artists expressed these same positive and negative cultural effects through their art forms showing either optimism and escape or pessimism and disillusionment/alienation. Choose a work from each of the disciplines (art, literature AND music) and show how the work illustrates either the positive effects (optimism, escape and/or scientific advancement) of the beautiful age or the negative effects (pessimism and disillusionment/alienation). Be specific and refer to the positive and negative developments of the age in your essay. Your essay should be 500-750 words. Be sure to support your response with specific examples taken from Chapter 18 in your textbook, the Listening Guides, and the Module 2…

“The Story of Solutions” Economic development is one of the critical issues in any setup. According to Barkan (10.4),  the achievement of a good economy costs a lot of changes in different aspects to ensure that negativities like inflations are evaded.  Currently, the economic revolution has been felt for almost five years, where a lot of developments and strategies have been made. This discussion aims at elaborating on the various changes that ought to be taken t for effective economic development as elaborated in “The Story of Solutions” video. According to the video, one of the changes that need to be implemented is adherence to various economic policies set to ensure that there is economic development. It is vital to ensure that all the rules of the economy are followed effectively to ensure winning is achieved (The Story of Stuff Project 1:10).  I agree with this proposal as it would help to ensure that people invest in the right places as well as refrain from directing their finances to futile sectors. As a result, a bigger GDP would be achieved.…

Judicial Review and the Preliminary Ruling Procedure Access to justice is quite significant for every individual, and it goes beyond the right to an effective remedy throughout the entire process. It is, therefore, significant to ensure that everyone can access effective mechanisms that allow them to get justice. There are two crucial PRP (Art. 267 TFEU) and JR (Art. 263 TFEU) that help in ascertaining whether the system of judicial protection for third parties in the EU is valid or not. Some of the issues of accessibility in PRP are those in Art. 267 (TFEU) that promote a cooperative relationship between CJEU and national courts, the reference-based procedure which does not support an appeal system. This piece of writing critically evaluates whether the mechanisms for accessing justice under EU law are effective for third parties and provide recommendations for reforms or opportunities missed. Two vital articles are useful in this piece of writing. They are PRP (Art. 267 TFEU) and JR (Art. 263 TFEU). As per Article 267 (TFEU), the Court of Justice of the European shall have the power…

Comparison of the corrections and sentencing practices of the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands Introduction All around the world, most Judicial systems face tough questions on the importance of incarceration in criminal Justice systems. Throughout history, the correction system is always seen to be the ultimate way of tackling criminals. However, this purpose has transformed with time. Prisons have been used as an area for detaining criminal suspects, a place for the stray citizens, an institution for keeping the mentally ill and an institution for rehabilitation of citizens. The challenges and transformations that have occurred in the course of history have shaped and developed the correctional systems that we have today. Recent statistics put the United States as the country with the most significant number of prisoners per 100,000 of the national population. The figure stands at 716 prisoners per 100,000 of the national population (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2019). When these figures are compared to European rates, the results are shocking with 79 prisoners per 100,000 of the national population in Germany and 82 prisoners per 100,000 of…
