Ceremonial Speech
Good Morning fellow Americans, I am honored and privileged to have been elected as the President of the United States. I promise that I will devote my time and effort to meet the challenge and serve the best interests of Americans. I understand that, as the newly elected President, my administration will have to decide whether our society would make a U-turn or moves forwards to a great future and prosperity. As such, it is our responsibility to decide on whether we will change the political landscape of the nation or not. Currently, loads of issues divide us into small antagonizing groups. But I would instead focus on common goals that we all share and need to cultivate. These are the issues where we can make a significant process. Alongside strengthening the country’s political structure, I intend to transform the American healthcare system towards providing universal and quality healthcare to all Americans regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. I am not the first President of the United States to take up this cause but am determined to be the last. A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt called for a health reform that would serve the needs of all Americans. However, the collective failure of American political leaders to meet the challenge of providing universal healthcare has led the country to a breaking point.
Every American recognizes the unusual challenges that are placed on the uninsured person who lives every day, just an illness away from bankruptcy. A look at statistics that define the health challenge reveals that one in every three citizens goes without health coverage for two years. On the other hand, over 14 000 people lose their health coverage, daily meaning that this could happen to anyone. Therefore, I intend to develop a universal health program with the primary goals of making affordable insurance available to more Americans, expanding the Medical program to cover all adults with income below 138 percent of the federal poverty level in addition to supporting innovative techniques in delivering medical care.
Lastly, I strongly believe that we can transform the American political structure by replacing gridlock with progress and acrimony with civility. Because that is our character, that is who we are, and that is our character. Thank you. God Bless America and God Bless the people of the United States,
