Cloud Computing
Cloud computing refers to the on-demand of computing services. The services provided by cloud computing include storage, networking, databases, analytics, software, among others. Organizations demand cloud services mainly for reasons such as reduce costs, faster innovations, and balance economies of scale. Cloud computing resources are very flexible since one needs to pay for the service they use (Sharda et al., 2015). Cloud services enable businesses to operate at reduced costs and run IT infrastructure efficiently. With the use of cloud computing, a business can change their perspectives on IT resources from traditional ways to modern methods. The performance and global scales associated with cloud services have led many businesses to adopt cloud computing.
Cloud computing concerns providing services, and therefore is classified into three categories, that is, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). Cloud computing delivers software as one of its service, which links to PaaS (Labes, Hanner & Zarnekow,2017). PaaS consists of IT infrastructure development tools, and thus users can access the service through software or web portal. The PaaS model mainly is used for software development.Saas model plays the role of distributing and delivering software applications to the user. The model ensures that users are capable of accessing the services in their location by use of the internet (Gai et al., 2016). On the other hand, the IaaS model identifies providing storage service to the users. Thus users have storage where they can start and configure as they want. Therefore, IaaS is related to cloud computing through the provision of storage services.
With the rise of cloud services demand, many vendors have involved providing the services. Various companies have specialized in the provision of cloud services to users. Such companies include Microsoft Azure that provides alternatives for Microsoft services integrating. The company covers the three categories of cloud computing, that is, PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS. Second, the IMB cloud company that provides services for the building and management of apps through various programmers (Jungck & Rahman,2015).other company providing cloud services is the Amazon Web Services (AWS). The AWS provides customized services, and most of them are a third-party application that is interactive to the users.
