Prompt 1

Creativity is anything that one can make out of it. In my case, I experienced creativity while a sophomore in college. I am majoring in Computer Science, and I am part of an organization known as ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) that is concerned with doing projects. Being part of the organization helped me to expand my horizon in understanding what creativity is. I was able to sharpen my skills in doing projects such as creating program languages for business. Also, through volunteering, I am part of Code for the World organization when I have learned how to develop codes for international organizations.

With the advancement in technology, I have managed to take advantage of it to create various programming languages for businesses, thus expressing my creative side. For example, most recently, I used my creativity to develop an algorithmic trading bot for trading stocks which will help individuals in the stock market to buy and sell their shares in the global market. As a member of ACM, I have learned to understand and interact with individuals and also value what the team envision various projects in order to produce something that will be considered by clients as great. 

My creativity influences my decision inside and outside the classroom because inside the classroom we work as a team and the decisions made are collective and guided by rules. Outside the classroom, I make my own decisions through critical thinking. My creativity relates to my future career because I want to be a computer programmer in future in order to develop various computer languages that will help businesses improve their performances. I use various inspirations around me to facilitate my way of expressing my creative side through replicating things that I find most interesting. I know that through creativity, I will be successful in my studies and carrier.

Prompt 4

My greatest talent is playing basketball. I consider this talent as the most meaningful to me because I have been playing it since I was seven years old. Also my family like playing basketball together or sometimes we go to the part to enjoy watching the game. I can say that I have played basketball my whole life. At three years, my dad began pushing me to play basketball, but when I reached seven is when I realized that I could play pretty good. It looked like a natural talent because as young as I was, I was able to dribble, deflect passes, and make accurate shots. As I grew older, my younger brothers and their friends were beginning to catch up with me, and I knew I need to improve my natural talent by practising harder in order to continue maintaining my high level.

My hard work enabled me to win many awards during my high school studies and for the club team. The best moment happened while I was still in high school when we played against Thomas Jefferson High School in a game that lasted for two and a half hours. I remember two minutes had remained before the match could end, and Thomas Jefferson High School was ahead of us with one point, and everyone in my team has lost hope. I remember receiving a pass from a friend I quickly made a successful field goal which gave us three points and made us win an award. My talent allows me some opportunities inside and outside the classroom because while at school, I have managed to work in a computer science team to develop a programming language known as a chatbot in python for businesses. Also, outside the classroom, I have managed to create my own algorithmic trading bot that will help enterprises to buy and sell stocks.

Prompt 2

While at high school, I took an optional college math class that gave me college credits. The main reason for deciding to take the class was to challenge my capability and also experience the feeling of engaging in a college class. I also managed to learn some math concepts which have helped me in college to perform better than the other students who did not take the test. Also, while in high school, our math teacher informed us about a course offered for free by a particular college. Upon hearing that it was free, a few students and I decided to take the class. The teacher informed us that the course would require us to learn some math concepts. I saw this as an opportunity for learning new concepts that I didn’t know. I knew that building on various math concepts would be advantageous for me in future as it will give me an edge during future classes in college.

So far, I can say by engaging in the free test and course has benefited me a lot. The test that I took while at high school enabled me to obtain a piece of experience concerning college. It also helped me to cope up with college life more comfortable. In my first class, I was nervous because I was not sure if it was the right decision to take the course. The good thing was that the professor was the friendliest person I have ever encountered. She made learning in the class easier as she cared about us as students. I am glad that I took advantage of the opportunities because they have enabled me to understand various math concepts which exposed me to college life, and they have so far helped me in my college studies.
