Confounding
Confounding is a threat to the validity of causal inferences. Changes in the dependent variable may rather be attributed to the existence of variations in the extent of a third variable which is related to the manipulated variables. Where spurious relationships cannot be ruled out, rival hypotheses to the original causal inference hypothesis of the researcher may be developed.
During dinner when Roberta trusts me and shares her secretes she says that she has been diagnosed by her doctor with depression. Luckily the fact is that am taking evidence based practice 2 and this can be a solution to the Robert problem. She also looking for me to advice her once more she believes I will always give the best and she is happy. This could be avoided by consulting different people who are familiar with depression and not only every one.
After watching somebody with selling benefits of acupuncture for depression, she wanted to know whether she can as well try this. Though she had invested in unsuccessful on line gambling site which never thieved well. She asks my view though not aware and could not assist at the moment. This could be avoided by avoiding the issue of depression because at the moment she is having inadequate resources.
In conclusion evidence is there that Roberta sold her poodle and she is playing poker and drinking sherry in hotel .She should have used other means to get money rather than selling her poodle. This resulted from the current situation that she is a pensioner and has no money the only solution was to sell the poodle. In previous article she is basically hoping that because I have passion in evidence based practice, then I will eventually assist her.
However, depression cannot be healed by wines. It is also due to depression that the lady was playing poker machine games to try to gain at least some money. The truth is that the money lost cannot be reversed. She also sold her poodle so as to get money to enjoy and get freed from depression. From this information it is evident that the lady was suffering from depression. It is my suggestion that people look for better ways of dealing with depression whenever it occurs otherwise the situation will always worsen.
