Consumer products
Do some research and tell the story of an American brand/company (past or present) doing business abroad, and the lessons learned. Find a domestic manufacturer of consumer goods that either modified their existing, successful-at-home product (like Pringles), created an entirely new product line to sell to a foreign market, or even a company that tried unsuccessfully to sell a product abroad despite success with it in the States. The company you choose could be from any of a variety of industries, from food to automotive to technology and beyond. In at least 2 pages MLA format with works cited page, tell the story of this company/brand/product and how it all worked out, for better or worse, and the lessons learned along the way.[unique_solution] Consider the following questions to assist in your research: Why did this American brand have to do things differently for a foreign audience and how did it choose to do so? How did the company figure out this was necessary? Was it successful in its effort? Why or why not? Had the foreign market been familiar with this company before this product was introduced? If this was a failed attempt to enter a foreign market, what could the company have done differently? If this was a successful attempt to enter a foreign market, what kinds of effort ahead-of-time assured success? Has success led to introduction of other products in this market? Did failure cripple the company?
