Contributing factors of abortion
Introduction
The argument about the abortion has been running for decades and seem so controversial, many consider it murder or so immoral and by, defining abortion occurs when the pregnancy is ended so that it doesn’t result to a child or before the normal growth. Many argue that abortion shouldn’t be legalized yet many of the pro-life believers are totally against it and believe it should be illegal. Many of pro-life supporters fail to understand the fact that even if abortion was illegal it could still be practiced (Forsythe & PresseR,2005) The aim of this thesis is to discuss why abortion legalization in society should be encouraged and the contributing factors as to why women terminate the pregnancy.
The society is against abortion and suggests that everyone has the right to live without considering the circumstances that translated to the pregnancy. On the other hand, In the case of rape, child abuse or incest the affected individual is both physically and emotionally frustrated. These people end up hating themselves and live always in fear and it’s so painful to raise a child of a rapist. Thus the society also should allow abortion in case of the above crimes. These women have their own rights and need and no one has the right to rape anyone. Raising this child can’t be easy and has to be coupled with social and emotional commitment. In case the affected isn’t in a position to cater for the kid and force a fetus to grow into a child seems worse than abortion in case the child is unwanted (González et al,2018). This is because that fetus will grow in an environment that is harsh to him/her without care or any love and this causes instability to such a child.
Adoption, as some suggest, can be a method of prohibiting abortion in case the child is unwanted. However, some may be mentally ill and continuing with pregnancy is risky since they aren’t aware like the mad people. Financial difficulties make so many women opt for abortion and this is as a result of many women who are unmarried or poor and thus their state cannot allow them to raise a child. Yet the societies wrongly uphold the poor in the society. Illegalization of abortion contributes to bad methods and unhygienic abortion procedures opted for and this can lead to the death of the mother (Janiak& Newlan, 2017).
A child may be born with certain complicated defects which may be painful throughout the lifetime. These include serious mental illness/problem, serious genetic problem and physical handicaps ailments. Most concerns are raised as a result of personal health that is life-threatening. Advanced maternal health and depression are some of the reasons for having an abortion. At this particular situation where the life of the mother and fetus is at risk, abortion is optioned without objection. Scientifically fetus is more of a brain dead person having no consciousness or self-awareness, therefore abortion cannot be equated to murder since the fetus cannot be a person. Currently, there are modern and safe methods of terminating pregnancies which are very safe and secure.
