The world is living in fear. The people are living in a way that they cannot interact with others socially. The reason for this is due to the spread of the coronavirus, which has affected many countries in the world. People are no longer living in peace or conducting their daily operations. Most of them are staying indoors as students have indefinitely closed school. From this, the people have therefore embarked on the process of conducting a social distancing. By this, I mean that they require to keep distance while relating to each other. From this, they can help curb the spread of the virus to many people. The only way that the virus can be reduced is by limiting the way people interact with each other in the community. The other essential remedy is by regularly washing hands and also avoiding being in crowded public places. The other thing that people need to avoid is to hug or shake hands with their friends. In this case, it is the function of social workers in the community to ensure that the people are living without fear. The other thing is to come up with ways that can help bring happiness in society. At this time, most of the people are located in the houses as they fear pf getting the virus. Most of the social workers in the communities have come up with ways of discounting face to face interaction with the members of the community (Hardcastle, Powers,  & Wenocur, 2004). Instead, they have devised different ways that will help them interact with the rest of the members of the community.

One of the critical things that need to be considered is the fact one needs to maintain close human contact. A social worker can come up with safe methods that will help create better human contact (Purnell & Paulanka, 2003). In this time, many people will feel lonely as a result of social isolation, which will significantly impact the physical and social impact of many individuals. A social worker, in this case, is to come up with ways of ensuring that there is human contact within the community. One of the critical things is through using social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook (Rothman, 1999).  These are the better platforms that will help the people in the community to come into contact more so family, colleagues, and friends. One of the things is to educate the people on how they can make schedules of one on one on how they can make video calls and connect. I will urge the community members to use electronic tools, which will help them be in contact with the rest of the community members. The other thing is for the people to look at different online version things that they can do, unlike their regular activities. They can search for an online book club and also join any online class where they will keep themselves busy. It will be one of the best things that will be able to create social interaction with the community members.

The other key that I have noted is the fact that much domestic violence and family abuse will increase. Many families will have disputes since the children are at home as well as the parents. One of the critical things, in this case, is to come up with better ways that will help engage them will in the house. The children can come up with constructive activities such as reading materials. The parents, on the other hand, can engage themselves in constructive activities where they will avoid any cases of conflict. They should know that they are the role models of the children hence need to behave well.

As a social worker, I will focus on better ways of engaging people through the use of social media. Here I will be able to talk to some of them on the importance of staying in peace and ensuring that they follow the guidelines from the government. They need to also adhere to the policies put in place to ensure that they are safe at all times. I will; also ensure that the members of the community are well educated on the effects of the virus and some of the preventive measures they can come up to prevent the disease. Through this, they will be in a position to restrain themselves. By sensitizing all the community members through social media, it will be easier to prevent the disease as well as ensure that there is social and economic justice among the people. Finally, the community members will be urged to work from home if they can serve as one way of engaging themselves (Snyder, Peeler & May 2008).
