History

From the beginning of the ninth century until the acquisition of the Mughals in 1616, a large part of Chittagong, including Cox’s Bazar, comprised the Arakan kingdom.

On the way to Arakan on the hill road, the Mughal Emperor Shah Shuja ordered to set up camp here, fascinated by the natural beauty of Cox’s Bazar.
