Create an Informal Assessment Tool
Part A)
- Using your course text and readings as a guide, develop an informal assessment tool designed to evaluate one student’s performance in an instructional area of your choice.
- If you need assistance with selecting an instructional area, refer to the Colorado State Standards for the grade level you work with.
- Write a one-page summary explaining the purpose of your assessment tool, and rationale for why you selected to create an assessment tool for that specific instructional area for that student.
Part B)
- Implement the informal assessment tool with the student.
- Write a 3 page summary of:
- How you implemented the assessment tool
- When, where, describe the setting.
- The results of the implementation of the assessment tool
- How did the student do on your assessment? What percentage did they earn? Was that passing?
- The limitations of your assessment tool
- Was it difficult to use, time consuming, etc?
- How you can improve the assessment tool
- What would you change to make the tool better?
- What did you learn through this experience (creating and implementing the tool)?
- Proper formatting, spelling, grammar, and paper length
- Include a copy of your blank and completed assessment tool as appendix in your report.
- How you implemented the assessment tool
