In the last ten years, there has been a progressive massification in Cruise tourism over the previous ten years; the number of cruisers has improved at a rate of 8 to 10 % in the year 2014. Socioeconomic , environmental factors as well as institutions are some of the main factors which contributes to the development of the cruise .

Salento is one of the tourist cruise, the place is both a cultural center and sun-and – sea destination. The cruise is suited at Brindisi which is a historical town that has a lot of cultural attraction such as churches, archeological sites and museums and these are some of the tourist attraction.  Salento has grown at a faster rate from the year 2008 to 2013. The main factor that contributed to the suiting of the cruise is the natural resources as well as the cultural ones which could be used as an opportunity to the development of both the community and the cruise. With the development rate of the cruise there will be a decrease in the number of the unemployment which will have impacted both the community and the cruise itself.
