Introduction

Culture is a cumulative deposit of  knowledge,  an experience, beliefs, the  values, one’s attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through individual and group striving.

Culture in broadest sense has cultivated my behavior, accumulated experience which is socially transmitted behavior through social learning.  A culture is being a way of life it has influenced my practices, beliefs, values, and symbols accepted in the community; they are passed along by communication and imitation from one generation to the next. In my life experiences, my culture has been symbolic in communication. Some of my culture symbols are group’s skills, people knowledge, their attitudes, personal values, and individual motives. I have learned the meanings of the culture symbols are learned and deliberately perpetuated in society through its institutions.

Every Culture has patterns, for behavior at that is a and transmitted by symbols, constituting the distinctive achievement of human groups, including their embodiments in artifacts; the essential core of culture consists of traditional ideas and especially their attached values; culture systems may, on the one hand, be considered as products of action, on the other hand, as conditioning influences upon further action. Culture is the sum of the total of the learned behavior of a group of people that are generally considered to be the tradition of that people and are transmitted from generation to generation.

The following are elements of my identity that I could use to present interactions with my future clients. I will use my indigenous language to teach them here I could use word s and symbols when communicating with them. I could apply the use of symbols used by community members. I could use culture use the shared system of values to decide what is good and what is bad. This will help in instilling good moral values to the new generation to come in my community. Furthermore, I could use my identity to teach them the rules and norms in the community and make it easy for them to overcome it.

I am interested in working as a social worker before I come to have passion in this field I used to see people in my community having poor moral values in my family most of my relatives were taking alcohol and taking drugs and substance abuse. This played a significant role in developing my career; simply because I regret the way my past generation has been in the society. This was a challenge to me, and I wished that one day I see a family that is socially and morally stable. Through this, I have changed and installed new habits in my family and relatives and the whole community. Finally, I at times find myself doing social work. I help in advising people on the best ways to follow in life and offer advice and guidance to all individuals in the community. I enjoy interacting with the community members on how to handle issues in life.

I have also been participating in guiding all the youths, the orphans, the widowed and the whole community. This involves rehabilitating people who had bad moral behaviors like theft and other crime. This is highly promoting good cultural and social values; I enjoy this profession and I always am happy to work in my community as a social worker.

In my community I would like the lead change in this profession; I will ensure there is transparency between the professionals. This will lead to improvement in the social work industry since all workers will give their best to the community members’. As an agent of change in this profession, I would also like to come up with some new strategies and approaches when giving services to the community members. As a community worker, I will also encourage all community members to speak freely out their problems and suggest what solutions they think can solve their problems. Furthermore I will help the fellow professional to do their best when offering services to the community members. I would like to be an agent of change in this profession and meet the community members among these strengths I will bring change in the profession and community as a whole.

I as a social worker I have noticed that some cases need a high order thinking to come up with the best decision that will meet the needs of the community. To achieve this, I have been attending training and seminars teaching in social work. To ensure that I become the best in this field I get involved in activities of social service empowers me and is enhancing my helping skills.

My mother and father were recovering alcoholic who believed that it was hereditary. My grand pop was an alcoholic as well but died in 2002 My dad died in 1999.The previous generations were also involved in activities of taking alcohol .they were alcoholic and this affected their health most of them died of alcohol. After completing my family genogram, I have discovered that, in the three generations of my family origin. There are complex behavioral problems in the past generation, for instance, my grand pop was a drunkard, my father too was a drunkard, they had mental problems and their physical health was bad, and the family strengths come in whereby I in my generation have been an agent of change in the community.
