Development milestones in early adulthood
Early adulthood denotes the age between 20years and 40years (Feldm 2006). It is this period where our physical maturity that includes cardiac functioning, muscle strength, reaction time, and sensory abilities, has attained its peak. Despite this, there is a probability of having changes in body size, weight, among others. For instance, many professional athletes perform at their best. Most women, as well, have children at this stage of life. Besides, it is the time where the aging process begins. It is defined by vision, reproductive capability, and skin. The present study will extensively give an account of significant development milestones and tasks experienced in early adulthood’ interactions and behavior.
Major development milestones and tasks in early adulthood.
There are some observable development milestones and tasks that I have experienced and seen concerning early adulthood in relation to interactions and behaviors. In this regard, the first development milestone and task is in connection with cognitive milestones, where early adulthood starts to stabilize their cognition until the age of 35, where it reaches its peak. This is the period where there is relativistic thinking (Feldm, 2006). Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Secondly, there is an observation in my personal relationships. This is a stage where I realized the importance of relationships. It is when I created an emphasis on different forms of relations based on my business, career, and intimacy, among others. Furthermore, it was the time that I developed and built a robust intimate relationship that can lead to family and sustain my own life. Besides, I had to involve in the formation of different groups in the community. As a result, I had opportunities to participate in community developments. It is the time when I was involved in voting processes (Feldm 2006).
Expected development milestones and tasks in early adulthood.
There are various development milestones and tasks that I expected to be exhibited in early adulthood. In this light, first, I anticipated the achievement of autonomy, where I would have established myself independently and lead my own life. It is at this stage where I expected the establishment of a residence and learn the management of the household as well. In this regard, know how to make house budgets and maintenance of a home. Furthermore, forming families and becoming a parent. This is attributed to having knowledge of managing a household and parenting. Finally, I expected to be a young adult who is stable emotionally since it is considered as a sign of maturity (Feldm 2006).
Reasons why young adults may not have development milestones and tasks.
Several reasons lead to my delayed developmental milestones and tasks in my early adulthood. In this context, I am going to focus on logic based on the quarter-life crisis. This mostly happened in my age period of between 25 and 30years (Feldm 2006). Here I experienced challenges of life caused by overwhelming new responsibilities. This occurred after having a child. Besides, I had not secured a job after graduating from college. At this stage, I started leaving in regrets of making wrong choices.
