Question 2
Write a very short story about the zoo without using the names of any animals.
The zoo is where different animals and species are kept so that people can watch and see them in a strategic location. Zoos were historically kept primarily as a place where people could go and watch animals, but in recent years this trend has changed. A zoo is now a place where people can also research, protect, and conserve the environment. In addition, it has also served as a place where education takes place, and people can learn a great deal about animals, including the types, behaviors, statistics, emerging trends, and everything pivotal regarding animals.
The primary reason why animals are kept in the zoo is to foster their protection and especially those that are exposed to danger either from other animals in animal parks and game reserves or from human beings. In addition, they are also kept to provide a perfect ground for feeding and taking care of them, especially in situations where they are exposed to hunger and are injured. Animals have a tendency to abandon their fellow animals, especially after becoming injured and thereby making most of them stay alone, which exposes them to more risks. Animals are therefore taken to zoos in such situations where they are at risk from more dangers and in situations where they are abandoned.
It takes a lot of money to establish a zoo. Despite the costs that are associated with the establishment of a zoo, their benefits far surpass the costs that are associated with the establishment of these zoos. They are important since they enable human beings to learn about the biological diversity that exists in the world and, in the process, makes it possible for human beings to understand the species that exist in the world.
Zoos are also crucial since they contribute to environmental conservation. Without the existence of zoos, most of the animals that are abandoned or injured could die from neglect, and the environment could also be affected by the decrease in particular animals. There are some animals that have been kept in zoos after facing extinction, which implies that were it not for the existence of zoos, they could face extinction. Zoos provide wildlife with the natural environment that is required for the existence of animals.
It is, however, imperative for governments and non-governmental organizations to amass sufficient revenues for putting up the zoos. Animals must be fed properly, and owners of zoos must, therefore, ensure that they have the needed capital to run the zoos’ failure to which may make the animals live in deplorable conditions. A zoo should also be constructed properly in line with the animals’ natural habitats.
Animals must feel comfortable and without any risks, for them to thrive in the zoos. Governments all over the world have established guidelines on the establishment of zoos, and this has ensured that they are properly constructed, animals are properly fed, and they reflect the animals’ natural environment. All kinds of animals can be kept in zoos, including the land animals and the sea animals. Animals of all ages can also be kept in a zoo, including the newly born, the young and the aged. They must, however, be arranged properly in accordance with age, and preys must be kept away from the predators to ensure that there is the protection of all animals.
Question 3
Pretend that you get to make one rule that everyone in the world must follow. What rule do you make? Why?
One of the rules that I can make, which everyone in the world should follow, is to ensure that everyone contributes towards the protection of the environment. I would demand everyone to adopt a tree and take care of the tree to maturity. Trees are critical for the regulation of the environment as they influence the regulation of gases in the environment. In addition, they also play a critical role in ensuring that there is rain, which provides the water we drink and contributes towards safeguarding the earth’s water aquifer. One of the reasons why I would make the rule above is because trees are indispensable in the world we live in. Without trees, it would be difficult for the earth to regulate the gases in the environment. In addition, water would be scarce or non-existent at all, and this would mean that we would lack enough water for drinking. It is a palpable fact that water is life, and without trees, water would evaporate out of the fact, which could indicate an end of the world. It is, therefore, critical to raise awareness on the importance of trees, and there is no better way than making a rule that mandates all people to adopt a tree. The world’s forest cover has diminished significantly in recent years as a result of an increase in urbanization that has been brought about by the rural to urban migration. Many trees have therefore been cut to put up houses that will cater to the growing population in urban centers. In addition, industrialization has also led to the cutting down of trees where trees have been felled to put up industries and factories. The above has come without a solution to deforestation and thereby leading to extreme weather conditions such as droughts, famines, earthquakes, and landslides. In addition, it has also led to the emergence of acid rains, which results from the formation of clouds out of industrial emissions as opposed to the evaporation from trees, rivers, or lakes. The above rule would, therefore, go a long way in reversing this negative trend.
