Dr. Wen Leana
Dr. Wen Leana, City of Baltimore Health Commissioner, is a very influential personnel in her ability to lead groups well. She is indeed one of the remarkable healthcare leaders who help in improving women’s and girls’ health by coming up with programs such as Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs. In her process of leading groups, Dr. Wen Leana has always ensured she has created time to know the team she is leading (Reynaldo, 2017). That has also added to frequent communication of core objectives why the task is taking place. She fully spots the excellent work done by a group or a person and even happens to reward the job well done.
For me, working with Dr. Wen Leana at the community while teaching young women and girls on the preventive measured against pregnancy was essential. I not only felt that I fitted in from her ability to involve every person, but also gathered the urge to participate further in her Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Program. She has a unique way of delegating duties depending on people’s capabilities in I think she is exceptional. She not only empowers groups by mentoring them and coaching but also appreciates the efforts made by everyone, even in the healthcare fraternities.
She significantly had an impact on my future leadership. First and foremost, other than believing that a great leader should lead effectively and efficiently, I fully understand the authorities I should have as a leader. I am going to guide groups to complete a project in time efficiently. That also adds to developing and implementing timelines everyone will work on. Indeed, one of the things that still touched my interest in her general skills, which I will henceforth practice. They include being a visionary, strategist, change agent, influencer, team player, decision-maker, and a facilitator.
