Employees’ choices

Employees make choices due to situational factors; for instance, if an employee feels that the organization is not providing adequate compensation that includes salary and benefits, then he or she makes a choice of looking for another job with a reasonable financial cost. Additionally most employees will choose between remaining in a work environment in which they are allowed to grow; employees always feel satisfied when they are encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills.

Learning the reasons why employees make certain choices will enable me to know whether I am working at the right organization which can help me to develop my skills and also have the feeling of job satisfaction. Additionally most choices are based on compensation package concerning task given. This factor has enabled me to understand that employees should not take their work efforts for free, especially when they are aware that their salaries are below stipulations in the labor laws.

Three levels of organizational analysis

The three-level of study are individual, group and the organization as a whole. The individual level focuses on perception, ethics, cognition, personality, motivation and creativity at an organization level. Individual-level analysis is drawn from psychology and it correlates with employees’ performance and deviant work behavior from an individual’s point of view.

The group-level analysis focuses on communication and decision-making process; this involves two or more employees interact to achieve the required organization’s goals. Additionally, group members are encouraged to work collectively to develop team-specific routines. Other factors associated with group-level analysis include understanding intergroup and intergroup attachment and conflict.

The organizational level analysis focuses on the understanding of concepts such as organization structure, inter-organization cooperation, technology, cultural diversity and external factors contributing to the business. Members of the organization are encouraged to put more effort into ensuring that the organization experience a higher level of performance. Additionally, the organization level draws its principles from anthropology and political science.
