Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a software that allows an organization to manage its processes and resources (Babu & Bezawada, 2012). If an organization wants to succeed, then there should be proper management of the activities within the organization. There are many ERP systems in the market, and some of the examples include Epicor ERP 10, Infor ERP SyteLine, and Sage ERP X3. As an IT manager, I will use the ERP system to achieve different tasks. First of all, I will use to ensure that there is proper management of resources within the organization. In the company, many resources contribute to the success of the company. Using the ERP system, I will be able to track the resources and accurately manage them.
There are ERP applications that will also be useful when it comes to the operation of the organization (Hermawan, 2019). ERP software allows the applications and other systems to be connected so that employees can share information. The software collects data and makes it readily available to be used for different purposes. In any company, there are various departments, and these departments need to be linked. ERP system will help me connect the departments and ensure that there is proper sharing of resources. ERP software will be able to integrate all the activities within the company making the management more effortless. As an IT manager, I will always make sure that these activities are appropriately integrated for the success of the company.
There are many benefits that the company will enjoy using the ERP system (Pavel & Evelyn, 2017). First of all, the company will improve its productivity. If the processes and resources are appropriately managed, then the company will be able to increase its output. There will be maximum utilization of resources, which will also contribute to the success of the company. ERP will also improve the company’s visibility. The software allows the employees to access any essential process and track it down using the already stored data. Planning and reporting will also improve as compared to previous years. Using ERP means that the company will have a single unified reporting system.
