Essay on Fuel Conservation

Introduction

God has given us many things. They have made us, animals, trees, plants and this world. Human beings are dependent on many important things in this world. Fuel is also a very important thing for all of them. The biggest source of energy is fuel in the world, which can be used only once and we have it in limited quantity, so we have to conserve it and find new sources of energy in place of fuel like petrol, diesel, kerosene etc. The highest fuel consumption in the world is by private vehicles; we can conserve fuel by reducing the use of private vehicles and saving electricity. We all have to conserve fuel so that the coming era can also take benefit of it. We all have to conserve fuel so that the coming generations can also take benefit of it. Fuel is used to produce heat and energy through a chemical or nuclear reaction. Energy is used by the transformation of a part of the fuel mass. In today’s time, the topic of contemplation is that fuel consumption is high while fuel is limited to us and if we continue to use them indiscriminately, then the fuel will run out in the coming time, then neither We will not have coal or LPG gas for cooking nor will there be petrol or diesel in the vehicles to move from one place to another.

What is Fuel?

Fuel is substances that combine with oxygen to produce heat. Among solid fuels – wood, peat, lignite and coal are the main ones. Petroleum, kerosene and gasoline are liquid fuels. Coal gas, steam-ember-gas, liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas, etc. are prominent in gaseous fuels. In rockets used for scientific and military work, many chemical compounds such as alcohols, ammonia and hydrogen are also used as fuel. Energy is obtained at a rapid pace from these substances. Electric energy is also used to gain heat, so it is also included in fuels. Presently nuclear power is also used as a source of power, so fissile materials are now also considered as fuel.

Group of Fuels

Fuels can be classified into different types based on their properties. There are two groups of fuels; One can be classified based on phenomena, which are either natural, such as wood and coal or ready to use fuels, such as charcoal, while the 2nd group is based on the physical state of the fuel which can be liquid, such as kerosene, petroleum, solid, etc. like coal or gas, natural gas.

Sources of Fuel

There are many types of sources of fuel; sources vary by type of fuel. There are 2 types of we discuss sources -natural and artificial sources.

1st Natural sources of fuel are found freely in the environment and are found by humans so that they can be put into use. An example of natural gas found freely in the air. Its main element is methane.

2nd Artificial sources of fuel are usually made before use by humans. for example is charcoal. Charcoal is the fuel that is made from timber. The development process is specific but involves oxidization, resulting in environmental pollution.

Type of Fuel uses

Keeping in mind the limited amount of fuel, we need fuel saving. Coal is also used for power generation, hence the limited use of electricity also helps in coal conservation. Fuel can also be saved by using more quantity of CNG in vehicles. We should also reduce the level of pollution so that there is no loss to the remaining fuel sources. We should use fuels in such a way that even the coming generations are not deprived of them nor do they have to buy fuel at expensive prices due to lack of fuel. Fuel is very important for our life and life cannot be imagined without it. The government should also make strict rules for fuel conservation and make people aware of it.

Fuel is used from residential to commercial depending on energy requirements. Fuel can be used in more than one method. Household use includes heating and cooking. Natural gas is used in heat systems for both dryers and water. The cooking in most of the households is conducted by natural gas. Natural gas is the most popular and useful fuel because it has high efficiency, does not harm the environment and is also cheaper.

Every fuel has some advantages and some disadvantages. First I tell you the advantage and then the disadvantage.

Advantages

  1. What is ethanol? and its Advantage

Ethanol is a type of alcohol mixed with petrol that can be used as fuel in vehicles. Ethanol is produced mainly from sugarcane crops but can also be prepared from many other sugar crops.

The use of ethanol emits 36 per cent less carbon monoxide. Not only this, but it also reduces carbon monoxide emissions and sulfur dioxide. In addition, ethanol also reduces hydrocarbon emissions. Ethanol contains 36% oxygen. Using ethanol fuel reduces nitrogen oxide emissions.

In Brazil, about 45% of the vehicles run with 100% ethanol, not only the rest of the cars are also using 23 % ethanol mixed fuel. Ethanol is also being used in Sweden and Canada and many countries. In Canada, subsidies are also being given by the government on the use of ethanol.

  1. Advantage of Biofuel

Biofuel is being produced in India, the biggest benefit from the use of biofuel in aeroplanes will reach the en vironment. This biofuel will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20%. Along with this, the quality of such fuel will also be better according to international standards. In view of this, the IIP has now decided to set up a plant at Baraho for greater production of biofuel.

Disadvantage

  1. Disadvantages of Ethanol

If the demand for ethanol increases, there will be more focus on sugarcane crop, water is used in sugarcane cultivation and the irrigation system in India is still not that good. In such a situation, you will have to make a balance.

  1. Disadvantage of Biofuel

IIP scientists say that the price of fuel produced from jatropha is around Rs 130 per litre. Which is about 60 rupees more expensive than normal fuel. However, many countries are charging heavy taxes from airlines for pollution. Soon this action will be started in our country too. In that sense, the use of biofuels would be comparatively economical, but it is much more expensive than other fuels.

Some tips to save fuel

  1. Use maximum time public transport like bus train etc.
  2. Do not leave the engine running the engine, such as turn off the engine when the traffic signal is red.
  3. Use a bicycle for a short distance and if possible walk on foot.
  4. Keep proper pressure in the tire of the trains.
  5. Drive at a medium speed and become fuel-conscious.
  6. Electric and hybrid vehicles are also available. Use them.
  7. Do not burn the gas stove in the house when it is not in use.
  8. Do not have to heat food repeatedly in the houses.
