Every organization and departmental agencies need to have a continuous assessment and managerial strategies to enhance the growth and achievement of the set objectives. Need assessment entails a systematic process which would help the organization to identify and determines all the needs which the department have and try all the ways to address them (2020). There is a need to have a continuous process in the organization which would ensure there is good progress and also promote the adherences of the set objectives in the organization. Management of the employees in the organization could pose a significant challenge if there is an ineffective structure which has been put in places that defines the roles of each of the employees.
Texas Department of Criminal Justice is tasked with the responsibility to ensure supervision of the operations of the state adult prison system, adult parole, and funding and oversight of all the adult probation system. It has more than 18 agencies and more than 36, 000 employees (“Texas Department of Criminal Justice”, 2020). Additionally, it has more than 34,000 work directly management, with all the operations managed with an annual budget of $ 3.3 Billion. It’s through the exploration, which would ensure all the factors which have been identified and the possible information will get gathered to ensure all the limiting factors have been identified.
Data collection and analysis
After the initial stage, it would then follow the data collection and analysis. For instance, PEST will ensure there is enough analysis of the department and ensure there is a good flow of the resource in the organization. For example, the factors could either be external and internal and should be taken into consideration to identify all the gaps.
Final product
It’s the final step of the need assessment which will entail a summary of all the findings which have been gathered during the research. For instance, in the department, there are several findings which have been compiled during the need assessment. Management strategies are an essential aspect of the organization since they help boost the level of performance. There is a need to have a clear plan as to how the department will run its affairs, and this will be made possible with the use of effective management strategies. For instance, it’s through these strategies, which would help the department to determine the goals and also the objectives which the department want to achieve in the course of the operations(Thompson, 2019). In addition to that these strategies have enabled the organization to identify the timeline which is needed for achieving the set objectives without delay and this would enable the department to achieve both short and also long term goals.
Comparison And Contrast Of Federal, State And Public Policy Which Affects Management Strategies And Assessment.
There policies which are established at the federal, state, and also the local public which could affect the need assessments and also management strategies. Most of these policies have an impact in the department of the criminal Justice, and therefore there is need for the various stakeholder who is involved in these policies to consider the effects which they have on the need assessment and also the management strategies to ensure there is a good flow of the operation in the department.
Comparison of Federal and state policies
There is a clear comparison of the policies which have been enhanced in the state and the federal government about the criminal justice policies and their effects on the department of the justices. For instance, when the federal government enhances the policies, all the state should ensure that they adhere to these policies. In this case, the need assessment and the managerial strategies will be affected since the department will have to ensure there is a good assessment of the structure in the department and ensure there is a good flow of the operations in the department.
On the other hand, there are other policies which could get compared in the state, federal and also local public. For instance, the state department of Texas would depend on the funding which is provided by the federal state, and this would make the department adhere to the policies which are provided by the federal state and thus making the state and the department have a similar policy which is adopted in the department.
In contrast, is that the state and the Federal government adopts different management strategies and need assessment when it comes to the policies. For instance, the department would only focus on achieving the set objectives and goals. In contrast, the federal-state would be concerned in ensuring there is a clear formulation of these plans, which would ensure there is the flow of the operation in the respective state. The department would introduce management strategies which ensure the goals which the state has established to ensure the goals have been achieved. For instance, the Texas department has been adamant in ensuring that Justice prevails in all the circumstance to enhance good prospect.
