Family
Just talking to your family can make you feel extraordinarily better, and living with them is even more splendid and lavish. The experience of living with a family gives me a feeling of a unique type of love that comes with the joy of staying close to my family. Living in a family has helped me develop a strong bond and deep affection that has expanded to loyalty and healthy connections with my family. Living in a family means people are staying in one leaving scope, and therefore, as a result of the family’s proximity, my privacy is lean. Consequently, the closeness with my family has made me realize the importance of sharing. As one family, we have to share specific necessities such as food, clothes, furniture, and appliances. I have also learned that for a family to remain peaceful, every member of the family has to respect other people’s opinions and rights. Best experience while living in a family is getting to know that a healthy family love is unquestionable; I always have to love my family members no matter what they say or do because, even if we have different opinions, they will still remain my family. The feeling of family love has often made me feel the pain of my family members and that whatever affects me, affects them too. My family has always worked together to achieve our goals, and teamwork helps strengthen family bonds.
My family is a nuclear family, and unlike extended family, we have more advantages such as saving more money for our future expenses. In my family we often get the attention of our parents, we spend time and have fun together as a family. However, in extended families, children might not be able to win the attention of their parents as parents are often busy catering to the needs of their large families. And due to the size of extended families, both parents are forced to seek employment of their own, leaving their children unguided. In the comparison of my nuclear family to a single-parent family, it is essential to observe that a nuclear family is in the best position since we have two parents to take care of us. On the other hand, children in a single-parent family have only one parent who has to struggle all by themselves to provide for the family. The message about gender that I learned from my family was about gender attributes roles. I learned that different types of domestic tasks have been assigned to both girls and boys. For example, women are expected to get more engaged with cooking and cleaning chores while men are to take care of the garden and keep the compound neat. I also learned that when families are not adequately managed, they can produce inequalities. For instance, in cases of transmission of wealth from parents to children when a child is more favored than the other, and such cases can result in sibling rivalry and later family conflict. Parents and guardians should, therefore, learn the best ways to handle critical family cases such as gender role attributions and inequalities.
