Family Health Promotion
The success of health promotion in the family relies on the concept of family health, explaining why the idea is crucial in part. There are strategies that each family needs to employ to facilitate this (Kaakinen et al., 2018). Hence, the more skilled they are in doing so, the better the health those members will enjoy. Thus, a nurse needs to educate families not only about the need for understanding the family health concept but also the strategies that they can put in place to achieve it.
Health promotion strategies include the creation of a conducive environment that offers support to those in need, promotion of community action towards patients, and provision of personal skills training (Sakson et al., 2018). The World Health Organization contends that such measures are inseparable from any successful health promotion process. Markedly, individuals live within a family that determines what they eat, how they live, and what genes they posses other than other lifestyles.
There are specific factors that each nurse must put into consideration as they determine the most appropriate health promotion strategy that fits particular patient needs. First, they need to inquire about the health history of that person (Kaakinen et al., 2018; Saksono et al., 2018). If the individual has been living in an unhealthy environment, then the nurse will most likely recommend creating a supportive environment as the strategy. On the other hand, if the causative drive for a health condition is a family history, then the patient will be advised that genetics change lifestyle to cope with genetics (Sakson et al., 2018). Secondly, nurses also look at the individual needs of patients. Therefore, a follow up of the personal health history of patients is a backup to the whole process.
In summary, family health is vital for the wellbeing of all members. Family history implies a lot to the health needs of patients. Understanding the environment where one is in is crucial for nurses to determine potential causes of health problems. They need to consider family history to unleash the source of a problem hence come up with the most appropriate solution,
