Family Interview and Participation

I met Katrina`s family at children playground in the late morning when her parents had taken her with his brothers to go and have fun.  I was interested by the way she was behaving like any other child. I did a follow up through two emails and three phone calls. In order to complete this interview I used Ages and stages, SE, FACETS family interview worksheets and early intervention family consideration worksheet.

Childs history

Katrina is 8 years old. She is the third born in the family of Joe. The Joe`s lives only 15 minutes’ drive from Texas city  and she was born 15 weeks early and she weighed less than 2 pounds at the time of birth. Due to her extreme maturity she suffered from many extreme complications such as FASD, autism and ADHD. She also has colostomy which has been caused by chronic constipation. She is always jovial. She loves music and she loves to snuggle. She does not like communicating though she is sassy and challenging at times. She is very intelligent and she is able to read around 200 sight words. All Joe`s children are schooling going and Katrina has been enrolled in the same primary school as her other siblings. Her family is always by her side and concerned about her health due to the several complications she has.
