FEDERALIST 51

Question 1

Power separation in government aims at reducing conflicts hence jeopardizing a country’s operations. For instance, whenever two branches in government are working on different issues, the likelihood of engaging in a conflict is minimal. As such, the system to separate power forces government branches to focus on key issues that need to be addressed.

Question 2

Madison articulated that only the constitution granted the power to every branch of government hence did not believe in the complete separation. So, Madison believed that only honorable ambitions to work for the people’s interests would help attain a complete power separation (Madison, 1788).

Question 3

Madison’s comments on the need to take auxiliary precautions were castigated by his fear of the great difficulty of founding. Madison outlines that any government must develop strong institutional power in order to control the governed (Madison, 1788). Furthermore, the auxiliary precautions included the separation of power between the three branches of government, including executive, legislature, and executive. Secondly, the division of power and federalism serves as another form of auxiliary precaution. The separation is reprimanded by the fact that the executive practices many things in an unconstitutional manner. Finally, factions prove to be a vital auxiliary precaution due to the need to protect the minority groups in American society.

Question 4

A system of balances and checks between the three branches of government is created to prevent the concentration of power (Madison, 1788). Thus, individuals in each of the governments are constitutionally empowered to fight encroachment by individuals from other arms of government. As such, individual interests must align with constitutional rights stipulated by the US law of rule.

Question 5

The statement by Madison that ambitions must be made to counteract ambition stipulates that personal interests must be in line with the constitutional rights of a particular place. Hence, the interconnection serves to reflect on human nature’s ability to control the abuse to governmental roles and obligations. Madison stipulates that if all individuals were angels, there would be no need for a government (Madison, 1788). Besides, Madison states that if angels would be in charge of governing, external, and internal government controls would not be needed.

Question 6

Madison favored a large federal republic in order to believe why anti-federalists never preserved self-government and liberty. Thus, Madison needed a large federal government to promote justice and the security of the rights of citizens (Madison, 1788). The federal government protects the rights of its citizens by promoting social security.
