Friction Clutches
These clutches use one friction disc and are self-adjusting. They can be mounted on either driven or driving shafts and are powerful enough to handle a wide range of transmitted horsepower of up to 25HP. Further, they can comfortably handle a maximum torque rating of 5000 in pounds (lbs) at 80 pounds per square inch (PSI). The thermal capacity of these friction clutches is 2.5hp and can operate at an optimal speed of 3600 rotations per minute (rpm). Most of them are available in different versions, including pilot mount, sheaves, and couplings. This product category has 5 and 12 metric models and imperial models, respectively.
FMCE Flange Mounted Clutches
These clutches are considered ideal if your machine or system works in dirty or hostile environments. The clutch system is totally enclosed so that no dirt, water, or moisture can easily get inside and contaminate the system.
MDO Modular flange or Foot Mounted Clutches
The MDO modular clutches are the recommended type of clutches if you have very demanding operations. They are designed to provide more torque and come with an open design that provides better thermal rating compared to the FM clutch series. When using this clutch, the flange directly mounts to the motor, NEMA C-face type, with a maximum of 10HP. Further, the clutches come with a drip-proof sealing kit that helps if the clutch will be operating in wet environments. To make the clutch more versatile for use with chains, belts and couplings, you will also get optional units input and foot mount units.
