GLOBAL IT SECURITY
Critical analysis refers to the process of writing a subjective expression to evaluate the writer’s opinion and make the reader get a better understanding of the information used in the analysis to describe a particular phenomenon. It involves breaking the topic of study into small parts, which can be easily understood by the reader. The critical analysis for the preparation of information system graduates to meet the challenges of global IT security will use the criteria mentioned above in order to enable the reader to be aware of the topic (Sauls & Gudigantala, 2019).
Information systems in companies are referred to as the process of obtaining data, computing the data, distributing the data, and managing the data to use later for decision making within different departments of the company. The information systems are usually led by graduates in information technology to protect the information or data from loss or landing into unauthorized hands through illegal access. The information system in a given company is fundamentally broken down into sub-systems to ease the process of transacting data. The sub-systems are transaction processing system(TPS) which is used for collecting and storage of information, and another sub-system is the management information system(MIS) used for summarizing the data obtained in a transaction processing system. The data collected and summarize used for making decisions in the decision support system(DSS), and lastly, the top-level managers of the company use the data for strategic planning in the executive support system(ESS). All the operations are performed within the information systems; hence the graduates should use specified methods to ensure the company’s data is protected. An organization can invest more in IT resources to encounter challenges of managing global IT security.
Therefore preparation of information system graduates involves them acquiring higher education system to produce qualified and competent workforce to manage security challenges (White et al, 2019).
The global companies meet various challenges of global IT security, and hence the information systems graduates should meet the challenges. Firstly one challenge result from human elements since not all operations are technical. The people involved in operational and strategic planning of data may make mistakes or show incorrect data to the client. The graduates can only meet this challenge obtaining skilled personnel to the management of information through training and acquiring best practices on how to tackle such mistakes on transacting data or information.
Secondly, another challenge of global IT security is inconsistencies in obtaining companies’ data. For example, some people may be lax to sharing the password, and therefore they need uniform passwords to enable them to access information without limitations continually. Graduates can meet this challenge of global IT security by setting an identical password for customers and enforcing security policies while respecting the law since some countries do not support the idea. Therefore the graduates should be able to understand the requirement of different countries before setting a uniform password; this can be achieved through research and incorporation of countries’ laws before creating such policies.
Thirdly another challenge by global IT security is the framework resulting from the diversity of information system companies; the graduates of the information systems should meet the problem by having the capacity to create computer security, which ensures customer needs are met with high security.
The challenges can be met by information system graduates who are well trained and who have got general advice for designing IS security curriculum (Malik et al, 2018). Therefore the global IT security requires IS graduates to have foundations technical knowledge which should be provided by IS curriculum through offering orientation for teaching, which helps students to understand more about IT security and solve problems easily. IS graduates should have analytical thinking and problem-solving skills where this involves the student operating with different specifications of IS to first solve the problem and know the cause before requesting for support, and this builds graduate to be competent when solving the challenge of global IT security by having analytical skills and problem-solving skills. The students graduating also should go for internships so that they get encouraged and acquire real-world experience to solve challenges of global IT security.
Conclusively this is the critical analysis draft to prepare the information system graduate students to meet the challenges of global IT security.
