Gothic Short Story
Gabriella and Grace are two sisters who have been abandoned by their parents. Gabriella is the older sister while Grace is the younger sister. Gabriella being the older sister takes care of Grace’s needs. Gabriella likes playing the piano as a way of relieving stress from her. Both Gabriella and Grace stay together in an eye-catching creepy house. Gabriella then teaches Grace on how to play the piano. While in their basement, the two sisters play the piano as a way of forgetting their problems. The unnatural nature of the house where both Gabriella and Grace lives frightens and makes their visitors feel uncomfortable.
The condition of the house where the two sisters stay scares visitors because of its supernatural appearance. Holes and cracks present on the walls of the house allow passers-by to see what’s happening inside the house. Cobwebs cover the roof and doors with spiders threading towards their preys. The house where both Gabriella and Grace lives is always dead silent and very dark unless when the two sisters are playing the piano. Old picture frames that are off-centered are pinned on dirty walls while some torn wallpapers lay on the floor of the house. Crusty rags are present in the bedroom where the two girls sleep, and rat movements can be heard beneath the rags. The problems encountered by the two sisters forces them to stay in a scaring basement that is unimaginable of human beings to stay in that kind of a house.
In conclusion, the two sisters have been abandoned by their parents, and they love each other. Playing piano enables the two sisters to forget their problems. In the end, Gabriella dies, and Grace takes care of her body. Grace plays the piano to relief the pain of losing her sister. The house where the two sisters stay frightens people, but finally, someone helps Grace to clap her older sister.
