Graduation speech
“Good morning? The chancellor, the vice-chancellor, the supporting staff, the parents, and my fellow grandaunts.” I want to take this excellent opportunity to congratulate each and everyone who has participated to make this day colorful. Today I want to mention few things concerning our university. Firstly, I want to thank our vice-chancellor for providing us a favorable environment to make our dreams to come true. He has brought educational projects: he has initiated the construction of post- modern library and new modernized laboratories. This library has been offering revision materials to our students. Students are now doing researches in the library. The construction of the library has made student to uplift their grades because it is spacious enough to hold a large capacity of students. Ladies and gentlemen, as you know many parents have bringing their students in the university because of its performance. Now the university is registering both nationally and internationally to pursue their degrees in their field of specialization. The registration of internationally students will facilitate interaction of those students with the university community. In our university, there are also modernized laboratories, which are large enough to hold a vast number of our students. The laboratories are equipped with equipments for the practical subjects.
Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot also forget to say bravo to our vice-chancellor for his unlimited efforts to fight insecurity within the university. As you know, insecurity has become an obstacle of our success. Our university being an excellent university is working tirelessly toward solving this problem of insecurity. Many security officers have been recruited to curb this problem. These officers will now ensure the students are safe when attending their lectures. Our vice-chancellor, I also thank you for the commitment you have about this issue. There is introduction of smart identity cards of the university: this will ensure that no intruder who penetrates in the university without authorization of the security officers. This improvement will ultimately lead to a high performance of the students because they are secure when attending their lectures.
In addition, I also appreciate the efforts of the supporting staff for working hard in their respective departments. The staffs are focused toward achieving the university’s mission and vision through meeting the required deadlines. The staffs have been also punctual to arrive in their respective offices and are social to the students when serving them. Their industrious nature will ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the university. The senate has also employed an adequate number of the supporting staff: this will ensure that, the students are served in a good way. Moreover, having an adequate number of supporting staff, will also able them to serve the large number of the students we have especially in the finance department.
Ladies and gentlemen, I also thank our university senate because of forming a commission which now is regulating the performance of the students. Nowadays, students are reading serious because the senate is expelling those lazy individuals who are not serious with the studies. My dear comrades, I like this philosophy by Martin Luther King,” if you cannot run, you can walk, if you cannot walk, you can crawl provided you keep moving to the next level. Ultimately, I urge you students to work hard because to succeed you have to struggle. I also request your humble prayer as we leave this university, to have Gods mercies in whatever we are going to do
