Having proficiency in technological aspects and genius

Throughout human history, our ability to innovate and create new opportunities is one of the main reasons why our population continues to grow and thrive. Since I was young, I have always sought to continue this trend in innovation by combining creativity with current scientific knowledge in the field. My interest in this field drove me to pursue studies in engineering, which has greatly enhanced my ability not only to recognize the need for innovation around me but also how to address those needs. Having proficiency in technological aspects and genius are the internal strengths of an enterprise; however, another factor that determines success in an environment full of uncertainties is a possession of management skills.

Through this Mater’s program in Engineering Management, I will be able to enhance my knowledge in the field of business with the essence of engineering in it.

My academic performance has been consistent throughout. I completed my Xth standard from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi, India, with overall CGPA 9.6 in 2013. Further, I did my XIIth in Science stream with PCM with Economics from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi, India, with 90.6% in 2015. I went on to complete my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication from Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of Engineering), New Delhi, India.

I believe that a good connection between business and engineers are vital for a profitable and efficient future in the industry. By studying Economics in my senior year in school, along with math and science, has assisted me in understanding some of the principles involved in the management and production techniques. My winter internship in 2017 at Bharti Infratel Limited, under the electrical designing team, helped me understand the infrastructure of telecommunication towers and the various operations used to install a tower in an area. This internship provided me with multiple opportunities to develop my leadership skills and taught me teamwork. I successfully co-founded a Fashion Society called Panache. The leadership and organizational skills in me became apparent when I took the responsibility of Event Head for Panache in the Cultural Festival 2017. Due to this experience of handling the event, my interest in management grew stronger. In 2018, I did my summer training in BSNL, as a part of my semester VII academic module. BSNL is the fourth largest integrated telecom operator in India. My training in BSNL gave me a vast knowledge about the installation, configuration, and testing of the SDH-STM 16 transmission system in a telecommunication sector. It taught me about the functional architecture of various sections.

Furthermore, in semester VII, I chose the ‘IOT based health monitoring system’ as my minor project. This project motivated me towards IoT and its different applications which gave me better ideas for my final project in semester VIII and therefore, I made my final project on ‘Wearable based paralysis helping system‘ that uses wireless sensors to collect and transmit signals of interest and a processor is programmed to receive and automatically analyze the sensor signals. By working on this project, I enhanced my critical thinking and problem-solving skills and gave a boost to my technical knowledge.

Due to the lack of practical knowledge delivered by the Education System in India, abroad is a better option because of the pragmatic approach rather than an only theoretical approach, which will make me use this practical knowledge and imply this into industrial work opportunities. So after deciding to pursue a Masters in Engineering Management abroad, I started doing ample search on various options available and found the UK as an apt study destination. I found that the kind of opportunities, challenges, rewards, and satisfaction that the studies in the UK offer are very reassuring, and choosing the UK as my study destination is an apt decision. I am confident that the UK boasts perhaps the most prestigious education system worldwide, and I am convinced that this Master’s program in Engineering Management will help me expand my skills and knowledge spectrum not only in books but also in real life. I strongly feel that the international exposure that I will experience while studying in the UK will prepare me to know how business works in different countries.

During my further research, I found that the modules available at your prestigious university perfectly fits my career aim. I believe that at your university, I would be able to network with a variety of people through the various clubs and organizations on the campus. Interactions with like-minded students and industry representatives would allow me to sharpen my business acumen and prepare me to meet the challenges in the real world.

Additionally, I believe that my knowledge of Electronics and Communication Engineering is an excellent combination of Engineering Management. Through MSc Engineering Management offered by your university, I will be able to delve deeper into the principles of engineering, ensuring that I thoroughly understand the capabilities and limitations of the current field. I look forward to using the experience that I receive through this Master’s program and further develop engineering practices in the future.
